    1. but I doubt they’ll let me vote… Damned discrimination against Denver voters is what it is, let me tell you… where’s my coffee…

    2. Though, considering you gave Riley no chance just a week ago, your “endorsement” is a bit surprising.  Your reasoning makes sense though and considering no one up here seems to care about the election, your effort is much appreciated.  I already voted but Tom will def get a second look come Nov. if he runs again.  Well done, thanks David.

  1. I talked to a life-long friend just last night who finished his tour service in the reserves. I was happy to hear that he thinks he will not be called back for yet another tour. He’s back in the work force with an entry level job at a bank. He’s excited to go back to school and is ready to move on with his life away from war.

The same can not be said for those who have fallen in combat. We must begin a new strategy in Iraq. This endless quagmire must end now.

Arm Sgt. William E. Brown was only 25. It was his second tour that took his life.

  2. Just for fun, here’s Dobbys’ posting about the war in Iraq from January 23 of this year, and what is actually happening via a CNN Poll yesterday.  I have inserted a few things in parens after his razor sharp prognostications:

    DOBBYLAND:

    70% disagree with the war.
What does that mean? (IT MEANS 70% DISAGREE WITH THE WAR)  President Bush said that if he were polled on if he approved of the way the war was going he would answer “no.” (OF COURSE, HE’S THE ONE RUNNING IT) If you think the average American is the nutter out on 5th Avenue running around with feathers on his head banging pots and pans then you’ve spent far too many hours on Pearl Street (THIS IS THE PART OF HIS POSTINGS WHERE HE SAYS ANYONE WHO DOSEN’T AGREE IS A HIPPY).  To understand polls I guess you really have to be good on reading the tea leaves ( THANK YOU -NOBODY WAS AWARE OF THAT BEFORE )–most Americans don’t oppose the war as much as they oppose how it’s being fought (WRONG).  President Bush is offering a plan to better stability and security in Iraq (WRONG).  If it works and in 60 days security is increased you’ll see his numbers dramatically rise (NAIVE, WRONG AND WRONG). That should be something we all hope for (NAIVE AGAIN, JUST MORE DEATH).

BACK ON PLANET EARTH (CNN Poll yesterday) :

WASHINGTON (CNN) — A new low of 30 percent of Americans say they support the U.S. war in Iraq and, for the first time, most Americans say they don’t believe it is morally justified, a poll released Tuesday said.

In the poll, which was carried out Friday through Sunday, 30 percent of respondents said they favor the war in Iraq; 41 percent said they oppose it because they think the 2003 decision to go to war was a mistake; 26 percent said they oppose it because they think it has been mismanaged; and 3 percent said they had no opinion.
Asked whether the U.S. action in Iraq is morally justified, 54 percent said no, versus 42 percent who said yes and 4 percent with no opinion.

If I had to take a class from the Dobby I would petition CU for my money back. I feel sorry for those poor kids.

    1. Though, if you’re cool with it, I’m cool with it.  And don’t worry, the university is yet to let me teach a class detailing the intricate philosophies and prophecies of the Great Dobstradomus.  Though, from what I hear, there are hoards gathering outside Hank Brown’s office daily demanding the insertion of the class into the Poli-Sci curriculum.  Stay tuned…

Peacing out is simply not an option.  Surrender in Iraq means something entirely different than surrender in Vietnam.  I’m okay with benchmarks and other solutions to speed up progress in Iraq.  But withdrawal isn’t a solution.

      1. the public dime.  What would be fun to see is the list of different stories dub has given about his public employment at CU.

don’t post on my dime, dub.

        1. His rhetoric of surrender is absolutely unconscionable. Hey, Doobie. Volunteer and take your hoards with you if you don’t want to surrender. Unless you are too afraid to come out from behind your desk?

This is an occupation of a foreign. You do not win occupations, you only postpone the inevitable. Have you learned nothing from history?

      2. Your “surge is working” article were all from March and written by right-wingers who did another premature ejac… cheerleading hit piece. We are now are fully surged up, and nothing is happening except more killings.
        http://voanews.com/e

While we continue to fund all sides of this conflit, we are also funneling money to war profiteers; know as arms dealers, contractors, and terrorists
        http://rawstory.com/

One of the biggest profiteers is in the executive officer (but he thinks he’s not subject to the laws governeing that office for some insane reason)
        http://www.sfgate.co

It seems you are behind the curve, even in your party.
        http://abc.net.au/ne

Delluding yourself to believe something fictional is true, is only insane. Are you insane Doobie?

        1. Anyone want to do a poll on if/when Bob Schaffer and his followers (Doobie) begin the song and dance on Iraq? You know the classic lines that McCain uses to attack the post-invasion, but not the current occupation?

          1. but I think the schedule is accelerating.

“We have lost elections because Republicans have not effectively communicated to the American people why our sons and daughters are being asked to fight and win a war that many Democrats in Congress and their friends in the press would prefer America lose.” BS website

Bob can not answer the question.  He can not tell us why.  I expect there to be a change in language on his website within a month.

            That’s called a flip-flop in Republican land.

  3. Thanks for that historical perspective from Dobby.  It just exemplifies how everything the Bushies have been saying has not occurred.  Time to re-evaluate.  But the Dems need a plan the public can buy.  Lots of folks concerned that we have gone over there and created chaos and don’t want to abandon the Iraqis to terrorism.

On another note, closer to home.  Paul Weissman is considering entering the Boulder County Commisisioner’s Race.  I hear it is all but sewn up by Cindy Domenico the County Assessor and long time public servant.  He is asking for feedback…Anyone here got any comments.
