  1. And now we see why Lamborn can’t be let out of his cage for unscripted moments.  That’s why this buffoon turns down invitations to appear in public forums.

“Call my office and set up a district!”  And then there’s  Hotaling there, having to play the part of the puppet master to make the words his dummie said be comprehensible.

God, let’s hope if Lamborn goes to Congress someone prints his scripts in crayons.

    Priceless!

  2. How the heck this guy ever got elected to ANYTHING is beyond me.

He touts having “introduced” more anti-abortion legislation than anyone else. I’ll bet the amount of legislation he’s been able to PASS has been negligible.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  3. in 1999 when I stood behind Lamborn’s car — parked in a taxpayer-provided legislative parking spot at the capitol — and explained how I felt about his Visualize No Liberals bumper sticker.

I told Lamborn I would literally develop a stomach ache when I walked past that bumper sticker on my way to work, knowing that someone who would just as soon I didn’t exist was inside the capitol making laws that would affect me.

He thought I just didn’t get his joke.  Of course I already knew he was playing on visualize whirled peas.  I said, “It’s not funny to a liberal.  Think about it.”

Lamborn told me someone had left a note on his car.  I don’t know the contents of that note.  Perhaps it pointed out that some of Lamborn’s constituents are liberals, and maybe he should rethink the bumper sticker.  In a few weeks, it was gone.

Lamborn seemed afraid of me — which is pretty funny, as I’m mild-mannered and increasingly grandmotherly and I was holding back tears.  He may have been afraid I would actually cry.  Kind of wish I had now.

    1. Jay Fawcett, unlike Lamborn, CAN think on his feet.  What you saw is vintage Doug Lamborn.  The former candidate is an excellent extemporaneous speaker, the latter is not nor, I submit, is he a good speaker even with prepared text.  His communication skills are a disaster.

Now, let’s consider the next round of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) hearings.  This is why this video is so valuable and demonstrates further why Lamborn is such a great risk to send to Congress.

Neither Republicans nor Democrats can seriously envision Doug Lamborn as having a silver tongue that can help defend our local bases from closure or down sizing.

First, Lamborn is NOT going to be on any Armed Services committees or subcommittees. [Dems will take the House with several seats to spare.]

Second, even if he were, is Doug Lamborn going to do anything but persuade others that the 5th CD can’t be too bright itself sending him to safeguard its interests.

Who would want to hire Doug Lamborn to defend them in a criminal case?  O.J. would have been convicted if Lamborn had been the hired gun speaking for the defense in court.

And, in the case of our bases, it’s little chance Lamborn would be any more persuasive defending our bases.  We cannot afford to send a man of his skills to represent us.  He’s an unmitigated disaster.
