Doug Lamborn should repudiate or disclose the Club for Growth's position on illegal immigration.

As the Club for Growth’s chairman said in 2004,

” . . . (I)f America is to remain prosperous and free, we must KEEP OUR GOLDEN GATES WIDE OPEN . . . for low-skilled Mexican migrant workers . . . .”

Instead of lying about Jay Fawcett’s position on illegal immigration, Doug Lamborn should be forced to publicly repudiate the Club for Growth’s position on illegal immigration or come clean and own up to it. 

If Lamborn is to be our Congressman, we need to know if he’s going to represent the 5th CD in Congress or the position of the Club for Growth.  With the Club for Growth’s record for lying about the opposition in the primary and general elections, we don’t know the truth about what it stands for on illegal immigration.

Here’s some very uncomfortable truth however, that Doug Lamborn wouldn’t want you to know as it could cost him votes.

Quoting from the above subforum–“Reagan Republicans for Immigration Reform” that discusses Senator Kennedy’s bill on illegal immigration, they further discuss an op-ed article  “KEEP OPEN THE GOLDEN DOOR” written by, Richard GILDER, then Chairman of the CLUB FOR GROWTH, where they say, “GILDER . . . writes an IMPASSIONED plea for immigration in general, and the pending AgJOBS bill (Agricultural, Job Opportunity, Benefits, and Security Act, S.1645) in particular.”  That bill was co-sponsored by Senator Kennedy.

Doug Lamborn should stop lying about Jay Fawcett’s position on amnesty for illegal aliens.  If Jay Fawcett wanted to take a position like Senator Kennedy has, that would be Jay’s prerogative and then he would stand or fall on that as his position; however, Fawcett has not called for amnesty and Lamborn should simply quit lying about that–and do something else.  Come clean, Doug, about the position the Club for Growth has on illegal immigration.

It is Jay Fawcett who should be going after Doug Lamborn and the Club for Growth  on illegal immigration issues, not them going after Jay.

If  Doug Lamborn is sent to office, then those who FAILED to educate themselves on the Club for Growth’s position on illegal immigration should not be calling Doug Lamborn “Benedict Arnold.” That is, however, what voters from Republican Congressman Mike Pence’s district in Indiana have called him–the same Mike Pence who has a PERFECT 100 POINT rating from the Club for Growth–a 100 point rating for “Benedict Arnold”–the Club for Growth’s guy! 

However, by planting safe seats with politicians committed to its agenda, the Club for Growth can ensure its agenda gets the political mileage it wants even when there is no real public support for that agenda.  While in some congressional districts, the Club for Growth’s agenda on illegal immigration may have real support, it does not in Colorado’s 5th CD.  And based on the reaction Congressman Pence’s district has had to him, it doesn’t appear like an agenda his district would support either.

Congressman Pence’s betrayal of his congressional district was the subject of a New York Times article, “Star of the Right Loses his Base at the Border.”  I’ve read it.  You can pay to read it here:
