  1. WOTD: "By creating overcapacity, China is forcibly deindustrializing every single one of its geopolitical rivals." Noah Smith

Noah's point (observation) is that China is flooding the markets of the world with goods that are so inexpensive, that local industries are folding.

    1. It's not the doors falling off Boeing in mid flight, it's that COMAC is too cheap. It's not that Fiat closed manufacturing plants in Italy, it's that Chery Automotive group wants to make car cars too cheap built in Italy.

Reminds me of the brief time in the late 80s early 90s where we got movies like Rising Sun which villainized the Japanese for their work ethic and business accumen rather than being a group of defeated racist.

  2. So…I guess an account that's more than 10 years old can still work on CoPols!

    Did I miss anything?

“Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.” Mark Twain

    1. Well….

Hiya, Dan. Ten years has seen a lot of changes but it is still the best place I know to talk politics. A significant number of old timers still lurk hereabouts. Several polsters changed their user names during a tectonic event some time ago, and our favorite trolls don’t show up much. It is still difficult for an idiot to make his/her/their point. The usual cast of loudmouths (most of whom know their subject) patrol this turf.

      Welcome back, Sarge.
