As The New York Times reports, we couldn’t even get through one day of summer without another mass shooting:
Three people were killed and 10 others injured in a shooting on Friday morning at a grocery store in Fordyce, Ark., the police said.
A shooter opened fire at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce in Central Arkansas about 11:30 a.m., the Arkansas State Police said in a statement.
The shooter, whose name was not released, was shot by the police and injured before being taken into custody, the police said.
Ten people, including two law enforcement officers, were injured in the shooting. The officers had injuries that were not life-threatening. Mike Hagar, the director of Arkansas State Police, said at a news conference that the shooter’s injury was not life-threatening.
According to Gun Violence Archive, this is the 234th “mass shooting” of the year. Today, June 21st, is only the 173rd day of 2024.
Somebody tell Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas that he’s wrong.

Surely, posting the Ten Commandments everywhere will stop this. People just aren't aware they're not supposed to kill. (And yes, it is hard not to write satire.)
I thought you had to have 4 dead for it to count as a mass shooting?
11 hours later, it is a mass shooting — https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/22/us/arkansas-shooting-grocery-store.html
Geez, it's almost like there are too many guns in circulation in the US. At least it's just what the Framers intended, right?!
