1. First take on the Colorado House and Senate maps:

   Colorado Sun: Democrats poised to keep control of Colorado legislature under latest draft redistricting maps

   The districts will continue to change.

   Nonpartisan staffers are slated to draw another iteration of both House and Senate maps by Sept. 23. How much the maps change will depend on the input the commission receives at public hearings this Friday and Saturday, as well as any new parameters adopted by the 12-member commission. 

   Commissioners will receive a presentation and discuss the latest proposed maps at a meeting at noon Tuesday. 

   Hearings (with signups for limited speaker spots) are Friday and Saturday.  Public comments can be submitted online.

   According to Woodward and Costa, Milley responded, "Madame Speaker, I agree with you on everything"

      In the days leading up to Jan. 6, Mr. Pence called Mr. Quayle, the only living Republican vice president forced to certify an election in which he was on the losing ticket.

      Mr. Pence told him that the president was convinced that Mr. Pence could throw out the election results in order to keep himself in power.

      “Mike, you have no flexibility on this,” Mr. Quayle told Mr. Pence. “None. Zero. Forget it. Put it away.”

      “I know, that’s what I’ve been trying to tell Trump,” Mr. Pence said. “But he really thinks he can. And there are other guys in there saying I’ve got this power.”

      Mr. Pence then echoed Mr. Trump’s false claims of election fraud. “Well, there’s some stuff out in Arizona,” Mr. Pence said.

      “Mike, I live in Arizona,” Mr. Quayle said. “There’s nothing out here.”

   1. Any evidence the insurance industry is tired of paying for Covid patients? Are pandemics exempt from coverage? I should think every insurance company would be frantic to reduce their exposure.

      1. Maybe they should add a paragraph in the fine print about taking reasonable preventative steps if the insured wants to be covered; like getting the damned vaccine.

         2. Sure – like having to pay a higher rate if you’re a smoker, or have chronic conditions. Not vaccinated for COVID? That’ll be an extra $ ____ year premium.  That’s the kind of math that will bring the anti-vaxxers down.

            And I have another suggestion for a mean little bureacratic rule. If health care workers in New York are successful in their lawsuit to preserve religious exemptions for required COVID vaccinations, then health care consumers deserve the right to know whether the person swabbing their whatever has been vaccinated. I want V and NV on medical worker nametags, and I want to be able to refuse care from the NVs.
