They had a bunch of vaccine doses they had to administer in 2 hours so they loaded them up in a couple of jeeps, drove to the various homeless encampments, and rousted people from the bushes and told them to go over to the car for a vaccine shot.
And she said they did, lining up to get a shot from people they didn't know out of a card in a parking lot.
She asked one of them wasn't he worried about who they were and what it actually was. And he said no, it was either the vaccine or some illegal drug – and he was good with either.
Weird way to look at it – but they found that they could vaccinate almost all the homeless by just driving to the encampment and providing doses out of the back of a car.
Good on your sister-in-law for thinking creatively to bring thevaccine to the people, instead of trying to bring people to the vaccine.
Kudos to your sister in law. THIS is American ingenuity at its finest.
