    1. Everyone, it seems (except the real Lamborn shills). If Lamborn loses today, there’s only one thing we concerned ColoradoPols bloggers can do – Flood the Beauprez campaign with call and emails demanding that Both Ways Bob pick the almighty Doug Lamborn as his running mate! This will ensure 3 more months of high quality, insightful posts from everybody’s favorite blogger. Who’s with me?

  1. Paul Prentice, former advisor to Reagan deserted Lamborn yesterday and endorsed Rayburn.

General feeling in EPC is that Lamborn has tanked too much to win.  Race between Crank & Rayburn with dark horse Rivera.

    1. Lamborn is toast and voters will be voting against Jon Hotaling and his dirty tricks campaign today.  Who will hire Hotaling after this race?

  2. Lamborn is actually EXCEEDING 100% because voters in other districts are writing in his name!

Lamborn. For America. And for Jesus.

Voting against Lamborn makes baby Jesus cry. Do you want to make baby Jesus cry?

    1. as much as i dont want lamborn to win (rayburn, bremer, crank, rivera, but please not lamborn), i am torn because i do not know what i’ll do if god (its debatable though, lamborn may actually BE BABY JESUS!) does not win. copols would seem empty without LHGQ! seriously, you are hilarious.

      1. When I filled out test ballots, I did a reasonable amount of (a) not filling in anything that wasn’t contested, and (b) not filling in “controversial” candidates.  I wondered how many people really voted that way, but figured it wasn’t zero.  You two have confirmed it.

            1. I replied to one of your posts a couple days ago, but I don’t think you saw it.  You were referring to some polls that I had not seen.  Do you know of any polls out there other than the one that Bremer’s campaign released?

        1. i did not let my pen touch anywhere near beauprez’s box. but frankly wouldve left ritter blank as well. its going to be a tough decision ill face in november: a guy who is coached and doesnt have many unique and innovative ideas, or a guy whose experience hasnt taught him much. i did vote for others running for state office, just glad to say ive never voted for BB.

    1. Republicans in El Paso and other counties that do the proverbial Over-and-Under shift.  All to send a message to the GOP establishment.  That Owens and Martinez tiff is not going to bode well for the Repubs.  Further indication that the Republican Party is in need of LEADERSHIP.

  3. People would not be taking shots at Lamborn if he were not the frontrunner. I am sure this point will be confirmed over and over again today.

  4. I didn’t vote for Beauprez; I left it blank. Hopefully, along with the other voters like me, it will send a message to Beauprez.

I voted for Jeff Crank; Lamborn’s stunt over the last few weeks drew me to vote against him.

I voted for Colin Mulaney because I felt Kent Lambert was only “carpetbagging” into the district; only because I felt he is more interested in winning a legislative seat (remember this is his second race; the first was against Merrifield in another district) and not because he cares about the district. Plus, Schultheis supported him (Lambert) instead of Mullaney, who has resided in his district longer than Lambert.

I left Schultheis blank because of his support for Lambert.

The other GOP’s received my vote.

  5. Eight hours and two minuted left of this shit.  Thank God (and Doug Lamborn) that it’s almost over.  Some of the more fanatical shill may need some in-patient care for the next couple of weeks, but that was expected.  Some of the others will simply self-medicate.

  6. They had one touch screen machine at the polling place today, and I decided to try it out since no one else was using it.

Good L*** almighty, I hope this isn’t how we’re planning on making voting easier and less confusing in the future.  I *think* my vote was counted…

  7. In my party/district (Democrat/Boulder), the only primary contest was for county clerk — Linda Salas vs Hillary Hall. Salas is the incumbant, and Hall is trying to unseat her. Whoever wins the Democratic primary wins the election, as the Republicans haven’t bothered putting anyone up.

Other than that, I only had just one option for each office. No wonder people don’t vote in the primary.

  8. Just left the poll, heard lots of chatter, sounds like big noise in D-5.  Lamborn “done”, Rivera not a factor, Rayburn not a factor, Crank “solid”

    1. If this was chatter at the polling place, then someone ought to be filing a protest for illegal electioneering, and I hope the election judges get nailed.  But I doubt that somehow.  It sounds more like the chatter in someone’s head.

  9. John Anderson’s support has been steadily gaining and his campaign will pick up votes from those who are tired of the mud-slinging.  He has clearly distanced himself from the extremists on the right-wing fringe (Crank, Lamborn, Bremmer, Rayburn) and has better voter appeal than Rivera.  Watch closely tonight as the 5th CD sends a Sheriff to Congress.

    1. Anderson defined himself by running to the left of the pack, and has been more visible than Rivera over the past few weeks. However, his centrist strategy distanced him from the majority of CD-5 voters that will be showing up today; if this were November things might have been different. This wasn’t his race to win.  No reason to keep the lights on at Anderson headquarters.

  10. As most of us know from the wonderful 2000 and 2004 elections that gave us the mess that we live with in this country today, the voting process in this country is broken.  Despite lots of talk about cleaning up and reforming the system, very little has come of it.  We still have many voting machines without any way to document and verify the individual votes and that have been shown can be tampered with.  In this day of technology and innovation in the leading country of the world, we can, and must, find a way to conduct legal elections that do not disenfranchise anyone eligible to vote (including felons who have served their time).  I recommend that we turn our redistricting, voter registration, and voting over to an honest, serious nonpartisan group, like the League of Women Voters.  Not the partisan secretaries of state, no matter what party they represent.  We need to get the partisan efforts and games out of these important parts of our democracy.  We sure don’t want or need any more stolen elections.

    1. Not everybody considers the League of Women Voters to be nonpartisan.

However, if a bipartisan group could be formed, including some U voters — and maybe others –, then perhaps your idea could grow wings.

  11. The minority staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, under the leadership of Congressman John Conyers (D., Mich.) just released a staggering report with the hard evidence of crimes and abuses committed by President Bush and his administration (breaking 26 specific laws). This report, “The Constitution in Crisis,” should provide the raw material for numerous news reports and point reporters toward fertile ground for additional investigations.

    1. With the Lamborn campaign falling apart, social conservatives will be seeking a new candidate. Duncan Bremer is just as solid on the issues as Lamborn AND he has run the cleanest campaign of any candidate (he authoured the “Integrity in Campaigning” pledge). By all accounts, Bremer is surging (just look at the odds on the left of your screen) and it would be a mistake to write him off just yet.

  12. Just heard a story on KVOR that KKTV ran some numbers for CD5 this morning.  Does anyone know what the story is?  I don’t think any votes are counted here until after 7pm so what were they talking about?  If anyone can find an article about it, please post.

  13. Lamont wins! Anti-incumbancy is afoot. America’s people, it’s towns, it’s counties and all good patriots everywhere need to turn the wheel. We’ve been heading in the wrong direction too long!
