      1. And naturally, Rudy Giuliani is a witting or unwitting pawn of Russian Intelligence's disinformation campaign.

U.S. intelligence agencies warned the White House last year that President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani was the target of an influence operation by Russian intelligence, according to four former officials familiar with the matter.

        But does Trump care?

The warnings to the White House, which have not previously been reported, led national security adviser Robert O’Brien to caution Trump in a private conversation that any information Giuliani brought back from Ukraine should be considered contaminated by Russia, one of the former officials said.

The message was, “Do what you want to do, but your friend Rudy has been worked by Russian assets in Ukraine,” this person said. Officials wanted “to protect the president from coming out and saying something stupid,” particularly since he was facing impeachment over his own efforts to strong-arm Ukraine’s president into investigating the Bidens.

But O’Brien emerged from the meeting uncertain whether he had gotten through to the president. Trump had “shrugged his shoulders” at O’Brien’s warning, the former official said, and dismissed concern about his lawyer’s activities by saying, “That’s Rudy.”

    1. The mother of my 12-yr-old cat was a feral cat that my son and daughter-in-law brought into their home so she could give birth in a safe place. Those four kittens – my boy and his three sisters – are all wonderful pets and the mother cat still lives with my son and daughter-in-law. There's your "awww" story for the day.

      1. I know my two would be out in the yard stalking birds if they could. Just listening to them chatter at them through the screen door tells me all I need to know. I interpret the chattering as “Come here little birdie. Come here little birdie. Come here so I can eat you.”

        1. Our solid black, ninja assassin, Blackstrom by name, is highly proficient at murder. He is both a gourmand and a gourmet however, and prefers rare song birds. Subsequently we limit his outdoor activity at certain times of day, and he restricts himself mostly to mice and lizards.

          1. That’s funny, Duke. Our dear, departed Lilith, so dark brown she looked black, was known as The Assassin. She’d come tearing out of nowhere, leap over our sleeping orange tabby clipping him in the head as she went. He’d wake up, look around and I could just hear him thinking, “That bitch. She did it again. I’m gonna kill her when I catch her”, as he went thundering off after her.

            1. Blackstrom is a big, powerful, neutered tomcat. He showed up one day out of nowhere and solved a rodent problem…and then just stayed. Other than his prediliction for relaxation, his greatest skill seems to be destruction. But that is only with prey.

He and our female Golden Retriever are best buddies and around humans he is the gentlest most agreeable feline I can ever remember…

We believe he was a drop-off, abandoned near our remote location. I don't think he was really quite a feral cat. He is very chill.

  1. According to David Flaherty, the US Senate race in Colorado is over:

Faced with a consistent stream of polls showing U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner headed for a loss next month, national Republican groups are spending far less in Colorado than in other battleground states this fall.

“There is no reason for either side to put another dime into this state. It’s over,” said David Flaherty, a Republican pollster in Colorado who predicts “historic” losses for his party Nov. 3.

“It is undeniable. The train wreck and implosion of the president will bring a historic number of other Republican candidates down, and if you don’t believe that then you have your head in the sand,” he added.  [Emphasis mine]

  2. May I start by saying people who engage in voter intimidation are too bad to even reach the level of being called scum, like the folks detailed in this 9News story? Plus, Kevin Lundberg tried to claim that holding a rally near a voting box was "tangential," so he should no longer be eligible for heaven. Plus, the Republican county clerk said folks feeling uncomfortable at a given voting location should just "find another site," so she should no longer be eligible to be an elections official. Grrrrrrrr

    1. Stirring..well done.

The disrespect shown to Americas' institutions and its laws by the Trump regime is nothing more than a clear demonstration of his disrespect for its people.

          1. V, these church breweries are #GodApproved. Besides, we can’t separate God from beer according to Benjamin.

Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”

~Benjamin Franklin (with some dispute to attribution)

They’ve turned the main floor of the old IOOF Hall on Main Street in Wray into a brewery.  Stop by the next time you venture into Dragon Country!

            1. Right…God gave us math…math gave us beer!  Wait a minute…maybe God gave us beer…and beer gave us math!

Well… under any circumstance…God and Poor Richard were both heavily involved.

              🍻

  3. Jennifer Rubin with another incisive analysis of Vichy Republicans:

It is their complicity by both acts of commission and omission in Trump’s racism, xenophobia, national security debacles, covid-19 disaster, authoritarianism, moral relativism and deceit that warrant a full repudiation of Republicans up and down the ticket.

In some sense, one can excuse the dimmer and loonier Republicans and the money-grubbing conservative media personalities who lack the brains and character to defy Trump. The greater tragedy is the Republicans who once had promising careers and the respect of their fellow Americans but then sold their souls simply to remain a member of the Senate and of the right-wing tribe.

    1. That is what is really going to piss off You-Know-Who.

Never mind his bullshit answers to Guthrie's questions. Or his crappy polling numbers.

It's the ratings that will sting.
