We’re 50 days out from the election, and we’ve got the latest poll numbers on the biggest races and issues of 2020 in the latest edition of The Mountaineer:
In this fourth edition of ProgressNow Colorado’s collaborative poll produced with Global Strategy Group, we explore an electoral environment in Colorado that continues to strongly favor progressive candidates and policy priorities. Highlights from our latest polling include double-digit leads for both Joe Biden and John Hickenlooper in the presidential and U.S. Senate races respectively, high approval for Gov. Jared Polis’ management of the COVID-19 pandemic, and strong support for recent progressive policy wins like Colorado’s landmark police accountability law.
With Republican voter registration in decline in Colorado and unaffiliated voters overwhelmingly rejecting right-wing candidates from President Donald Trump on down the ballot, Sen. Cory Gardner’s steadfast loyalty to Trump has emerged as a tremendous liability, and voters consider Gardner’s failure to defend Colorado’s successful mail ballot system from Trump’s false attacks nothing short of “cowardly” in their own words. Colorado voters understand and support the objectives of the Black Lives Matter movement, and want science not politics to guide the reopening of schools as the pandemic rages on.
Be the best informed voter in your social circle: read the latest Mountaineer research from PNC and GSG here, and then forward the report to everyone you know who would benefit from hard data about Colorado’s political climate. Then take a look at these other ways you can make a difference for the week of September 14:

Learn to be a protector with Protégete Action
Right now, many Black, brown, and Indigenous people are forced to live without clean air, clean drinking water, or safe places to work, and our communities have been hit hardest by COVID-19. These unequal conditions are due to generations of oppressive policy choices made by a powerful few. To make matters worse, many people have historically been left out of the political process, especially when it comes to voting. Now we must come together to protect our communities by getting involved in the 2020 election. We need to elect leaders who are guided by facts and science who will protect public health, fight against climate change, and set our economy on a path toward recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
