In the rush of news last week, I missed Trump's new milestone: He flew by the 20,000th entry in the Washington Post "False and Misleading Statements" database.
At the rate of his second 10,000 entries (only took 440 days) over the 191 remaining days of his present term, he'll reach 24,395, somewhat short of 25,000. But, it's campaign time. He may pick up the pace. For example, on the day he went past 20,000, "Trump racked up 62 claims on July 9, about half of which came during the Hannity interview:" [At that prodigious rate, Trump would go past 30,000 before the end of this term.]
This is what happens when you give someone that has the emotional maturity of a 4 year old the responsibility to lead the nation and the world:
Usually, Presidents grow into the office when faced with its inevitable challenges. The current occupant has shrunk from his responsibilities, leaving a legacy of cruel, capricious and self-defeating policies that have harmed our nation and given comfort to our adversaries.
Chuck Woolery for America – 2024!
Weren’t you a My-Favorite-Pillow-guy guy??? . . .
I'm looking forward to a pitched battle between Chuck and Tucker as a part of the 2024 nomination contest in Jindall's Stupid Party.
Other wings will no doubt be included in the contest, but for out and out nuttery and conspiracy theory, I think they will be in the lead.
Two more police officers have been murdered in McAllen, Texas. Edelmiro Garza and Ismael Chavez were gunned down responding to a domestic violence call. The suspect open fire on them as soon as he opened the door. Neither officer even drew his weapon.
The suspect later committed suicide as other officers responded to the crime scene.
Blue lives matter too.
Lumberjacks matter, too!
True, but I 've never seen a lumberjack killed because he or she was trying to protect me and my family. Cops and firefighters do that routinely.
I think that's kind of a narrow view. Lumberjacks provide the wood that builds our houses and protects us. Roofers keep us dry. Fishermen provide food that keeps us alive. They're all part of a society that supports our health and welfare. And they all go to work each and every day knowing that they're engaged in one of the more dangerous occupations, significantly more dangerous than law enforcement.
So, you're saying it's all right to murder cops because sometimes a tree falls on a lumberjack? Even Moddy is smarter than that, albeit not by much.
On Sunday, Polis posted on his campaign Facebook account to remind Colorado residents that scientific studies supported the use of face coverings and face masks in public places to help reduce the spread of the virus, adding: "So if you're a selfish bastard and wearing a mask to protect others isn't enough of reason to do so, then maybe protecting yourself is?"
My governor !
He might add the ultimate appeal .. the recent Goldman Sachs calculation that "a face mask mandate could potentially substitute for lockdowns that would otherwise subtract nearly 5% from GDP."
