Here’s the new ad from “21st Century Colorado,” targeting state Sen. Kevin Lundberg with an undetermined buy; but we’re told it’s in relatively good circulation for a legislative race.
Here’s the backup sheet for the claims made in this ad. Pretty blistering stuff.
If we understand the thinking behind this ad correctly, it’s not being shown just to hit Lundberg in his race against Democrat RIch Ball–though it’s certainly not going to hurt Ball to line up all these unsavory votes of Lundberg’s. But like we’ve been saying for years, Lundberg’s long record of antics in the legislature, and toxic votes, are wonderful material for anybody looking to pollute the Republican brand in general. If we were Democratic strategist types, we’d find a way to show this ad all around the state–with the word “Republican” dubbed in at least twice.

Batshit crazy since 2002
The Democrats’ message this year is basically, “vote for us, because we lie about our opponents”. For shame.
Any time you call something a lie and leave it at that, it’s the truth.
I’m too busy debunking the attack ads against Buck.
And found something more appropriate for you to do.
Like ordering pizza.
The next thing you know, mean Pat Stryker is going to tell him there’s no Santa Claus and no Easter Bunny.
But .. but .. he’s actually seen those things, so they must be true!
Scary.
You don’t know if any of this is a lie or not then, do you?
Why did you say so?
Again, if you just leave it at that, and don’t even try to make even an inane argument as to why, then you’re the liar.
Now you get to tell the class what’s a lie.
For those of us who don’t live in raci-sexi-homophobe land, I was referring to her shameful manipulation of the political process.
I’ll never be able to explain what this means to having a meaningful conversation.
“Her shameful manipulation of the political process” translates, in my mind, to corruption and mindless enforcement of rules…i.e., facism.
Lets have this discussion.
just corporatism.
I’m not sure why they are targeting Sen. Lundberg, as there are plenty of other Republicans who have made just as horrible of votes. Perhaps because Sen. Lundberg is probably proud of the fact that he “saved taxpayer money” while leaving children in meth houses.
for Ball is astounding. Drove through there Sunday and was thrilled to see signs and bumper stickers just about everywhere. I know it’s his hometown but it’s traditionally been such a strong base of support for Lundberg.
Hometown boy is finally giving right wing fringe guy a real run for his money.
Doubt the GOP analysts would have had this race as anything but Solid R early in election season.
In reality, he’s a poor fit. This is a moderate-conservative district, previously held by Stan Matsunaka and then Steve Johnson (now a member of the Ritter administration).
Lundberg’s such a knuckle-dragger. The fact that we’re going after him on TV (!) gives me hope that the powers that be feel more comfortable than I do about other races in the state.
Dems know they can’t win anywhere else in the state, so they picked one guy to spend all their money against, airing lies and smears about him, in the hope of holding on to one seat. It’s disgusting, really.
You’re so confused.
Lundberg, a Paleo-Republican (just like you like ’em), is the incumbent, numbnuts.
How exactly would Democrats be spending so much money against him “in the hope of holding on to one seat?”
Lundberg can be no more than 6,000 years old.
Dems are the majority party right now. They are trying to hold at least one seat (Kevin’s) in the legislature come November.
and you have no idea how Colorado state house/senate races. please shut your mouth until you learn something, and or take a look at the backup sheet and prove ONE SINGLE THING wrong.
The Dems are trying to hold at least one seat in the legislature (Kevin’s), which means they’ve already lost all the rest. This is what a wave looks like.
All this “running ads” and “criticizing opponents” and “touting your record” is disgusting, frankly. It’s shameful and appalling. Horrifying, even.
that is the problem.
Lundberg’s record speaks for itself. I know. Because I researched his first four years in the House–every single vote he cast, including bills that never made a final vote.
I know his record better than he does and it’s appalling. You should really stick to defending that which you actually know of–then again, if you adhered to that philosophy, we’d never hear from you again on this blog.
I don’t know how all the corrupt deals are made. But I’m going to fight it tooth and nail.
You’re usually worth ignoring.
$100 bet that the Dems keep both houses of the Colorado General Assembly.
Put up or shut up.
and H-man, BR, OBR, PapaSmurf and a few others. Afterall , it’s the wave year.
Keep digging! This has been yet another intriguing peak into your ignorance of Colorado politics. That’s what happens when you’re a carpetbagger though.
revealed the dark underbelly of the Democrat machine in Colorado politics. I know enough to know that there are some serious problems that need to be fixed. Throw the bums out!
I thought you just hit reply and randomly type letters that miraculously turn into (sometimes) coherent sentences.
Nope, that doesn’t work.
But getting back to the issue at hand, I’m a little confused by your comment about the “Democrat machine”.
If the strategy outlined in The Blueprint is dirty money politics that should be corrected at the polls, how is it that you are perfectly fine with Karl Rove’s dirty money political machine? Could it be because you’re a hypocrite? Hmmm, let’s ponder on this one for a few hours. I’ll let it stew and check back with you later.
You know what assuming does.

Or maybe this one:
Or you could just admit that you’re ok with it when it suits you, but you get all pissy when it’s used (on a much MUCH smaller scale I might add) to elect people you don’t agree with.
Nice playing with you Beej. That’s the problem with posting a billion comments, it’s really easy to find a quote YOU wrote to refute your own comment.
Use your brain next time.
by the county Repubs after Steve Johnson won the county commissioner seat. Then BJ Nikkel was appointed to the Lunkberg’s House seat. Then the county commissioner who was term-limited this year resigned and the R insiders appointed one of their insiders to the post. They love to play these games. So, three representatives of various sorts, none of them elected to the office they hold.
thank goodness there are good Democrats running against all three of the do-nothings.
Sen. Stan Matsunaka was elected to SD 15 in 1994, defeating the incumbent Sen. Jim Roberts. A model of a black helicopter was suspended from the ceiling above Matsunaka’s desk on the opening day of the 1995 session as a tribute to Roberts’ downfall. Sen. Roberts ventured far too far to the right of his district, which overlapped territory ably represented by a classic moderate Republican, Rep. Bill Kaufman. After Matsunaka held the seat for 8 years, moderate Republican Steve Johnson took it back from the Democrats. The question for SD 15 voters in 2010 is whether Sen. Lundberg has repeated the error of Sen. Roberts. Rich Ball has a lot in common with Stan Matsunaka…
… Brian DelGrosso, who was appointed to Don Marostica’s seat in House District 51.
is a sad, sad state of affairs for the county party there. Two extremists from the shallow end of the Marilyn Musgrave kiddy pool.
