# 1 – We need to keep our Democratic-controlled legislature at all costs next year.
# 2 – If we get that eighth district, we need creative map makers who will draw 6 Democratic-leaning districts and pack all the Republicans into CDs 4 and 5.

As a factual matter, when McConnell kept the SCOTUS seat open and refused to vote on Obama's nominee, Merrick Garland, Bernie Sanders was not running for President.
Just can't stand a dissenting viewpoint, can you, MJ? I believe R&R is noting the fact that Bernie Bros, Jilliots and other useful idiots helped elect Trump — who appointed Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and about a hundred like them to lower courts.

McConnel refused to vote on Obama's nomination for SCOTUS. He would have refused a vote for 4 years if Clinton had won.
It would be hard to gerrymander Colorado very far, and gaining a single seat isn't all that useful.
What if New York gerrymandered the hell out of all federal and state districts. It could go from 15, 9 & 3 (Dems, Competitive and Reps) to 21, 3 and 3.
But, one other thing about gerrymandering. If you work to hard to maximize, you have a large number of districts only a few points away from competitive. You're safe if there is a 2 pt swing between the parties. Changing demographics, base turnout, or political changes, can boost the swing to 5 or 8 its, then the wave can sweep over your big "safe" levee.
Trump-driven anger & Demographic changess are on our side in a bunch of states.

SLAPP Victory Affirmed on Appeal – Attorney’s Fees Awarded as Sanction
Today the Colorado Court of Appeals upheld the District Court ruling – dismissing the company’s complaint and awarding me attorney fees necessary to defend myself against this frivolous lawsuit and the company’s groundless appeal that followed.
This case demonstrates, quite clearly, the type of under-handed tactics employed by a reckless plaintiff (and its counsel) that abuse our court system and sought to punish speech. Such tactics have no place in our democracy. The appellate and trial courts both made the right decision, and the company will now pay its own attorney fees and mine as well.
I am pleased that the publicity this case generated helped prompt the Colorado General Assembly and Governor Polis to enact an anti-SLAPP law. It is my intent that no other Coloradan who wishes to participate actively in government or on matters of public interest will be forced to endure what I have.
I want to thank my attorney, Steve Zansberg, at Ballard Spahr, for his exceptional work, and all the many friends, colleagues, and even strangers, who have supported me throughout this long ordeal.
We are on opposite sides a
lot, PK, but you are nothing less than a hero for taking on the legal goons and standing up for the first amendment. And bless Steve Zansberg and the Ballard Spahr firm for upholding the highest ideals of the law.
