Casso was absent today, so the vote on HB 1351 was laid over until Monday.

If memory serves, that’s where this bill died last time.
It died in committee when Sen. Jen Veiga essentially killed it.
So if the bill passes the House, does it then go on to the Senate where it gets a voice vote?
if you’re being tongue in cheek or not, but just in case…
If the bill gets 33 on Monday, it goes first to senate committee; either Judiciary or Business Affairs and Labor. If it gets out of committee it goes to the full senate for second reading debate, where a voice vote could be taken, unless someone requests a division, or standing vote, as they did in the House.
The Colorado Independent today has a story on HB 1351, and initially identified the following “fence-sitters:” Casso, Levy, Labuda, Rice and Riesberg.
The last three were never going to vote for it; they were opposed to it two years ago and voted the same way Thursday.
The irony came from the sideline banner ad: from Check Into Cash, for payday loan services.
