For those who are NOT delegates to the State Dem Assembly, and those who are NOT going to any Town Hall Meetings Tomorrow:
Ten years ago, the Supreme Court overturned Colorado’s Amendment 2, which barred Colorado cities from passing any laws granting basic civil rights to its gay citizens. This landmark decision recognized the need for the state to treat all of its citizens fairly and equally.
Join PFAW ally the GLBT Community Center of Colorado to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this historic decision.
WHEN: Saturday, May 20, 12:30pm – 2:00pm
WHERE: West Steps of the Colorado State Capitol Building
SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Former Governor Roy Romer
Please bring signs, pride symbols, and flags to commemorate this event.
For more information, please e-mail Michael Brewer at mbrewer@glbtcolorado.org.
This November, Colorado voters will decide between fairness and fear when they cast their votes on two ballot measures; one to create domestic partnerships and one to write discrimination into Colorado’s Constitution with a same-sex marriage ban. Show solidarity with other supporters of fairness and equal rights at the Capitol this Saturday.
Check out the Loveland paper today.

Some Republicans question direction, integrity of Larimer County GOP; others say all’s well
(nice find roy)
Interesting article in Denver’s Westword about blogging anonymously on ColoradoPols.com. Refers to Voyageur and Beaupreznit.

I rarely post on this site but read it often during the day. The insights and opinions are worth reading and well stated. If journalists are posting anonymously, it is ok with me.
Just keep the people who blog on the Post and News there and keep the intelligent wit, sarcasm and humor alive.
Very interesting article … however, I have an issue over privacy on the Internet. The law mandates (as I understand it) that I have a right to my privacy. And because this forum was created specifically to protect anonymously, then we should uphold its rights under the 1st Amendment.
Everyone seems to want to destroy the right of dialogue and discussion. Everyone seems to be eager to a purpose of what other great thinkers were exposed and murdered for … debate and dialogue. I’m certain, that our forefathers did not want ridicule for the simplicity of Freedom of Thought. Indeed, if we continue to carry this thought forward, then we realize the “thought police.” And whereby, every column, every word spoken is cast into “you cannot say that or anything … just shut up … you cannot say a word … that is the law, or the risk to ones ability to earn a living.”
It doesn’t sound very American to me. It sounds a lot like:
fascism |?fa sh ?iz?m| (also Fascism) noun an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization. • (in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.
Regarding that article in the Loveland Reporter Herald:

I don’t live in Loveland, but from what I hear, there’s a whole lot more to the story over in the Larimer GOP.
The vintage car show in Loveland. It’s one of the best in the state.
:^)
Sorry; I should’ve linked just to the story. On the other hand, a car show might be fun.
Anyway, check out the link below.

There’s a big connection between what George Will is talking about and what the article in the Loveland paper is alluding to.

I’ll be bummed if Voyageur is gone now. After being out of town for a bit, a I’ve yet to see him, BMR, Phoenix Rising, Dan Willis….
Gecko, where did everyone go?
When Holtzman loses, and he is going to lose big, I predict he packs up and moves on. He’s burned his bridges in CO, has no real business talent, is unfit as an administrator, and has no political future. This guy doesn’t do much but posture. His ego is too out of control to do time building a base by running for the legislature, and county office is too demeaning. He’s about over.
Voyageur can’t be Bob Ewegen. I know that guy and he’s
WHOOPS! Let me finish that…
Voyageur can’t be Bob Ewegen. I know that guy and he’s way smarter than Voyageur.
😉 Just kidding, Bob. Much love.
Lauren, I agree with you 100%. It doesn’t seem like the old ColoradoPols anymore without those guys. I disagreed with Bad Moon 90% of the time but he was just one example of how Phoenix, Druid, Dan, all of them carried the threads well here.
Maybe they’re just on summer break since the legislative session is over.
I hope so Car31, they really livened this place up.

Agreed.
