    1. Eh, it's unlikely they'll actually impeach. With a Republican controlled Senate, any articles of impeachment will be a bunch of hot air with very little consequence. The focus will likely be on beating him next year.

      1. While you are probably correct, it remains to be seen if Mueller's report will contain devastating criminal conduct directly attributable to *rump.  It would take a crumbling of the GOP electorate's support to convince Republican Senators that their jobs are on the line, thus opening up the possibility of 67 votes to convict.

        1. Is it possible for McConnell to refuse to even allow the House impeachment managers onto the Senate floor?

I mean, it would be pretty outrageous but no more so than some of the other things that have happened during the past four years.

          1. Current rule of the Senate requires a trial.

            I. Whensoever the Senate shall receive notice from the House of Representatives that managers are appointed on their part to conduct an impeachment against any person and are directed to carry articles of impeachment to the Senate, the Secretary of the Senate shall immediately inform the House of Representatives that the Senate is ready to receive the managers for the purpose of exhibiting such articles of impeachment, agreeably to such notice….

III. Upon such articles being presented to the Senate, the Senate shall, at 1 o’clock afternoon of the day (Sunday excepted) following such presentation, or sooner if ordered by the Senate, proceed to the consideration of such articles and shall continue in session from day to day (Sundays excepted) after the trial shall commence (unless otherwise ordered by the Senate) until final judgment shall be rendered, and so much longer as may, in its judgment, be needful.

Of course, rules of the Senate can be revised…. With McConnell in charge, who knows what rule changes would be considered desirable.

        2. Most likely, a bombshell report from Mueller would lead to a strong primary challenge to Trump more than impeachment procedures. We could get Mitt Romney's second presidential run out of that, lol.

  1. Rudy Giuliani is steering the S.S. Trumptanic even closer to the icebergs wink

The circular firing squad: Mueller targets turn on each other

After Rudy Giuliani's latest comments, it’s everyone for themselves. And it's a prosecutor’s dream for the special counsel.

      1. He’s a GOPer politician?

When the hell has sanity, coherence, or even acknowlegement of objective reality, been any concern or requirement?  Not this century . . .

        #livinginthepast

  2. Yesterday on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, GOP Rep. Jason Smith yelled "Go back to Puerto Rico" at Rep. Tony Cardenas.

Just another day in post-racial America.
