  1. Ivanka Trump's hypocrisy is stunning.

She wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post (which her father calls "fake news!) about her daddy's "bold polices to stop human trafficking".

These entail economic sanctions on countries which do not implement certain anti-trafficking measures.  Somehow, the US, which has a huge trafficking problem, is not on that list.

There is  also nothing in there about wage theft and abuses. Without abusive labor practices, Ivanka's shoes would not get made in China, and wage theft is her daddy's preferred business model when constructing hotels.

More Trump family smoke and mirrors.

    1. Maybe he's getting a job as a stage hand at Shotgun Willies.

My prediction: Cole the Mole announces for SD 27, Dudley Brown puts up one of his ammosexual shills in a primary against Wist, and all hell breaks loose. The Dems pick up SD 27 – a seat once occupied by luminaries such as Bill Owens, Mike Coffman and John Andrews.

    2. I'm wondering if the Senate majority will allow him to serve without further investigation and some action. Last year, his Republican peers said "after consulting with lawyers, … none of Tate's alleged actions, even if true, amounted to sexual harassment."  Given how the Republican leadership and majority acted to protect their majority last term, I suspect there may be an interest in an investigation.

  2. Sage advice from Maryland's Republican Governor:

“But the party’s got to take a hard look at itself. If you’re going to be a majority party you’ve got to appeal to a majority of people.”

Will Republicans here or nationwide listen?  Nah…

Just keep funding tax cuts through deficits, undermine people’s health (and healthcare), oppress minorities and women’s rights and all will be good in TrumpWorld.

      1. Alexa: *says nothing because it did not hear you*

Alexa: "Ulysse from Mars. The MP3 is available for streaming, do you want to download it?"

Alexa: "YEE PIN Compatible with Anti Scratch High Clarity Film, Protect The Car Touch Screen from Damage for a Long Time 2013 2014 2015 Chevrolet Camaro My Link 7 Inch. $10.99 with Prime."

My experience with watching other people try to demonstrate their Alexa is that the device can tell the weather and turn off and on lights (Usually after shouting Alexa one more time). Everything else it fails every time. If you want a consumer device that sucks up all your data buy the google one since it can actually do something more than order from Amazon and turn lights on and off.

        1. Funny, we never have those problems with it. My wife one got to play with.  She's a software engineer and is having all kinds of fun teaching it things.

  3. Paul Krugman and his paean to Trump's incompetence

Trump’s angry reaction to auto plant closings is a reminder of his third big policy misunderstanding: He believes that you can run the economy by yelling at people.

[R]unning America isn’t like running a family business. It has to be done by setting broad policies and sticking to them, not by browbeating a few people whenever you see a bad headline.

You might wonder where his confidence came from, given how little he obviously knows about economics. The answer, probably, is the Dunning-Kruger effect: inept people are often confident in their abilities, because they’re too inept to know how badly they’re doing.

But the real question isn’t whether Trump will ever realize that he doesn’t know how to MAGA. It’s whether and when his supporters will figure it out. I guess we’ll learn the answer in the months ahead.
