    1. Just another idiot bloviating about law enforcement enforcing the law.  It’s not news, its the norm.

Only difference here, Brennan is not going to let these quaking Sallys breed fear without comment.

Politically motivated criticism and unfounded fear-mongering only serve the goals of al-Qaeda. Terrorists are not 100-feet tall. Nor do they deserve the abject fear they seek to instill. They will, however, be dismantled and destroyed, by our military, our intelligence services and our law enforcement community. And the notion that America’s counterterrorism professionals and America’s system of justice are unable to handle these murderous miscreants is absurd

      1. Apparently if you yell and scream about something and count the days, it turns into a scandal. It’s an experiment whether you can make it work on Republicans.

  1. I am hearing that the Bennet team expected to sell out their event at the Fillmore quickly. Instead those grassroots Democrats who worked hundreds of hours night and day to elect Obama are not so keen to spend money to sit in the back of a hall just to catch a glimpse of Obama.  The Bennet team will likely have to start giving away tickets if they expect to fill this event.

  2. Minnesota Public Radio pic

“The U.S. economy will bottom in the next two years. It will need 15 to 17 years to recover fully, if past recessions and depressions can be used as guides.”  -Scott McInnis

“Three or four years from now, we’re not going to have a conversation about jobs and all of that kind of stuff.”  -Scott McInnis

        1. You have really gone off the deep end, X man.  Who compared what, besides you?

“The U.S. economy will bottom in the next two years. It will need 15 to 17 years to recover fully, if past recessions and depressions can be used as guides.”  -Scott McInnis

            1. She’s immensely popular.  I hope you guys keep mocking her and ignoring her ability to raise money and excite the base.

Don’t you think Obama/Gibbs have better things to do than spend time mocking someone who’s not an elected official or a candidate, who by your own description is already completely irrelevant and a total joke?

              1. Unfortunately in America the two are not always the same.

There’s only so much of her “I’m so stupid that I’m exactly like you regular people” act we can take. I’m surprised more Republicans don’t find it insulting. There’s nothing ordinary about her; ordinary people don’t get paid $100,000 for a speech they read off teleprompters. And ordinary people don’t get interview questions in advance that they can prepare for.

          1. Nobody’s mocking her for not being elite. She’s one of the 100 most elite people in the country.

They’re mocking her for being too dumb to answer questions without stealing the test and writing down the answers beforehand.

But the fact that you’re lying doesn’t surprise me anymore.

              1. You are “elite” if both:

                1. You make money without having a boss.

                2. Your utterances are the subjects of a news story.

It’s not very mathematical, might need some editing.

              2. The difference is “Elite” and “Elitist”.

Palin might be elite, but many of her critics are elitist.

Does that help you understand how I’m right and you’re wrong?

                🙂

                1. You said:

                  Describe elite.

I bet we have different definitions.

In reality, you were using a different word. If, when you use one word you are actually implying a second, then it is going to be really hard to have a conversation. It make it especially difficult to understand how you could possibly be “right” when you weren’t even using the same word you asked us to define.

And if my thinking that those who aspire to be President of the USA ought to be at least a tad bit smarter than my bartender makes me “elitist” then I am proud to wear the label.

                    1. They seem a lot smarter after you’ve been drinking a bit (which is typically when you start talking to them).

If I went out drinking and decided my bartender should be President, I’d be a little worried about that decision in the morning.

                2. (even though you wrote it to yourself, like you just started blogging yesterday or something).

So we agree that Palin is elite. Do we agree that my definition describes the elite?

Then what exactly is supposed to be the difference between elite and elitist?

Since I’m doing so well on definitions, I’ll guess:

an elitist is someone who thinks elite people should be in charge of the rest of us.

Sarah Palin is elite. Sarah Palin thinks she should be in charge of the rest of us. Therefore Sarah Palin is an elitist.

                  q.e.d.

        1. in her hand this time?  Maybe, “Hi, Texas” or “I’m Sarah”?

“The U.S. economy will bottom in the next two years. It will need 15 to 17 years to recover fully, if past recessions and depressions can be used as guides.”  -Scott McInnis

“Three or four years from now, we’re not going to have a conversation about jobs and all of that kind of stuff.”  -Scott McInnis

            1. the Katie Couric interview disaster, Joe O’Biden, the “Bush Doctorine”, public spats with an 18 year old, writing a cheat sheet on her hand ?

There’s only one person she’s making a fool out of.  Don’t confuse popularity with fitness to govern.

              1. Don’t confuse popularity with fitness to govern.

Once could say the exact same thing about the current President…..

                Denver Broncos… Still Suck!!!

  3. If Sarah Palin came to town she’d fill up the Fillmore at the same prices instantly.

Sen. Bennet is scrambling to get paying customers for his event with President Obama on February 18 and will likely have to comp half the house to fill the Fillmore.

  4. I am struggling to maintain interest in politics/political blogs.  But this tidbit piqued my interest some.

The Governor, the AG, and the Secretary of State have agreed to ask the state supreme court about what in hell the US Supreme Court meant to say about the CO Constitution.  I don’t have the energy for a link….it’s in the news.

Anyway, kudos to peoples naive enough to work “together” and what not.

  5. Just as Josh Penry, in his delusional role as “Energy Dictator” berated COGA for allowing Mayor Hickenlooper to speak the truth to the lobbying organization, Penry and Steve “Can you spare a bowl of soup?” King now believe they can dictate that a business can be made to do things that are not in their own or the public’s best interest. Cosponsors of HB10-1282, Penry and King have even raised the ire of the Conservative Daily Sentinel Editorial Board.

The Daily Sentinel report on the dictatorial hypocrisy:

Saving jobs in Western Colorado is important, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of conservative principles that argue against government interference in private businesses.

Yet that appears to be exactly what is happening with legislation to be introduced by Rep. Steve King – and cosponsored by Sen. Josh Penry – to prevent Xcel Energy from closing the Cameo Power Plant in De Beque Canyon.

As a state-regulated utility, Xcel is different from the average private business, it’s true. Decisions such as closing the Cameo plant must be approved by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.

    But Xcel has already received preliminary approval for doing so, arguing that the half-century-old plant is inefficient and needs to be closed as Xcel works to meet voter-approved mandates on how much of the company’s electricity must come from alternative fuel sources such as wind and solar.  {…}

    Along with King, Penry and other members of this community, we would like to see the Cameo plant remain open and its 35 jobs remain a part of the local economy. But other businesses have had to cut jobs and closed facilities to deal with new economic realities. Lawmakers haven’t sought legislation to prohibit those actions.  {…}

Pass law to save all of 35 pet jobs, temporarily?  I grow more ashamed of our representation here each day.

    1. My neighbor, who has worked at Cameo for a long time, tells me that XCEL will offer workers jobs elsewhere.  So, even Penry’s whine about people being put out of work doesn’t stand the light of day.
