    1. How come you're so wordy, Realist?

a simple "Mornin' " would carry your message and save a couple of electrons for the Trumpstink report.

      Speaking of which:

      Trump stinks.

Even Jeff Sessions knows Trump Stinks!

      1. Hope you saw #TrumpsterFire's helicopter-side chat with reporters a few minutes ago. Instead of getting 3 hrs of sleep per night, I'm guessing he's getting 0 to 1. He was raging – attacked the Florida recounts, attacked the Obamas, attacked Hillary Clinton, and pointed his finger at a reporter who dared to ask if Trump wants Whitaker to oversee the Mueller investigation, and said, "That's a stupid question, but you ask a lot of stupid questions." What a coincidence, it was again a black woman who sent him into a rage.

        1. I haven't seen it yet, but I have been watching his eyes get puffier…as well as his attitude.

T***p is about to go past the tipping point.

I give him two more weeks. Mueller Ain't Gong Away!! The Dems won the house and will soon unleash a firestorm of accusations and investigations, the sycophantic morons with whom he has peopled his cabinet have alienated the world, his tariff policy is starting to erode the American economy more than his trillion dollar tax giveaway can prop up the stock market. The press is about to declare open war on his administration…and his base is declining to only the most selfish and hateful white people. For the record, I am officially a WP, though I am of mixed race.

But the cruelty he is about to unleash at the border with Mexico will do him in. The President of the United States is, and has long been, a deranged narcissist. He has no moral imperative to care about anyone but himself..now add megalomania. I have known men like him before.

Luckily, my contempt for his behavior easily outdistances my understanding of his insanity.

  1. Meanwhile, Paradise is burning. Really — Paradise, CA (population 25,000)  apparently was overrun by the Camp Fire. Videos and photos of damage and people fleeing are pretty horrendous.  Some who didn't evacuate in time were being sheltered in an empty big box store, with teams taking down trees near it and helicopters dropping slurry and water to protect that building.

I’ll skip right past the easy reaction that in the Trump era, OF COURSE Paradise is burning. For an analogous understanding, imagine Pueblo West, CO or Golden, CO burning down. Or if you remember the fire on the NW corner of Colorado Springs, multiply that by 4 or 5 and add a business district.

    1. It is fire season throughout the year now.  I've been involved in some forest health groups along the Front Range and there is this tension between those who want mitigation and those who think every tree is sacred.  Really tough to talk to pseudo informed people who think that nature will repair itself if we just leave it alone.  It will eventually but it might not be compatible with life as we know it.  I'm from the 'watersheds are the priority' group.  From my perspective not every tree is important but every rain drop is.  We need more mitigation and scientific forest management not less.

      1. I know her well and she has done well in her current chief deputy whip role.  (Apparently the Ds have several chief deputy whips). But no way am I going to dump the only African American from the leadership.

    1. I wish the existing leaders (Pelosi, Hoyer and Clyburn) would announce they want their jobs, but recognizing the new members, there will be a transition at the start of 2020.

DeGette aspires to be the Whip, developing as a policy wonk/issues leader for the Democrats. With this announcement, she is clear in signaling she doesn't want to be Caucus Chair or Speaker.

  2. I'm wondering how much the MeToo movement and Republican bungling of their inhouse sexual problems contributed to this absolute blow out of Republicans at the local and state levels.  The possibility that Brianna Titone is poised to win HD27 and just add another kick in the ass to those who thought running Stepford wifes against women who actually care about women was a winning strategy.  Is it possible that showing Lebsock the door opened the one for Democratic supremacy this cycle.  Republicans chose not to address their corruption and voters decided not to entrust with our governments.

    1. It's possible.  For our troubles, we got an increased House Majority, a Senate Majority, the row offices, a 4-3 majority in the Congressional delegation, and kept the Governor's office.

For their lack of troubles, they got HD-34 for half a legislative session only, and One lousy Lebsock.

For doing the right thing, I would call that a bargain.

    2. And I assume you saw that the guy who replaced Lebsock got clobbered before he ever set foot in the Statehouse? So Lebsock's parting middle finger to the Democrats, changing parties to give Republicans the vacancy, was for naught.

        1. You're right, V. I just looked back and he was there from the last week in March until Sine Die in May.

And Winkler was the guy Lebsock beat out in the Republican primary, so I guess he had dibs on the seat.

  3. Dear Not a skinny cook.

The Troll Management Team is worried about Moddy, who disappeared Tuesday on his way to the Republican Victory Party.  I know you usually water him on Saturday and turn him so he gets enough sunlight.  If he's ok but just sulking, can you let us know.

If he needs to be repotted, Bowman and I can help.

  4. He's gone, V! I watered him on Saturday. On Election Day, the weather was nice so I set him on the porch railing and then I went to vote. When I came back by to take him in, he was gone without a trace. No dirt clods, no leaves on the ground, no shattered pot–just gone. I think the Peakies stole him and took him somewhere to reprogram–er repot him.
