Tell the Republicans This Must End Now

The silence from Republicans like RNC Party Chairman Steele, Senator McConnell, Minority Leader Boehner, and Representative Cantor has been deafening as Boss Limbaugh spews hate speech against fellow Americans.

Limbaugh – the self-proclaimed “Mobfather,” in reference to the “mobs” that the DNC accuses of disrupting townhall meetings across the country — proceeded to list similarities between the “Democrat Party of today and the Nazi Party in Germany” saying that Nazis “were against big business … they were opposed to Jewish capitalism … they were insanely, irrationally against pollution, they were for abortion and euthanasia.”

“There are far more similarities between Nancy Pelosi and Adolf Hitler than between these people showing up at town halls to protest a Hitler-like policy that’s being heralded by a Hitler-like logo,” Limbaugh said.

Finally, someone is calling out the Republicans to put an end to Boss Limbaugh’s hate speech.

Democrats turned up the heat on Republicans Friday as they called on the GOP to denounce comments made by conservative icon Rush Limbaugh likening liberal Democratic leaders to Adolf Hitler.

In the latest round of political sparring over disruptive healthcare town hall meetings gone awry, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) encouraged its ranks to sign a petition demanding that GOP House Minority Leader John Boehner (Ohio) and his deputy, GOP Whip Eric Cantor (Va.), denounce Limbaugh’s highly charged riff comparing the Democratic Party to Nazis.

Please sign the petition here. This must end now before something worse happens because of the ignorance being spewed over right wing talk radio.

    1. As always, any slob with a computer can create crap like that – however, I highly doubt MoveOn created that ad. Perhaps it was a member, maybe not.

Regardless, we’re seeing a dangerously – literally physical – campaign to intimidate and threaten members of Congress and demonize them as Nazi’s as you’re alright with that because someone somewhere in the past did the same to Bush?

Two wrongs don’t make a right. And defending these extremists as such is just as insane.

  1. From SquareState

Health care reform supporter’s car trashed at Rep. Perlmutter’s, “Government at the Grocery Store.”

Rep. Perlmutter does a great service to his community by coming out to the district and meeting with everyone who wants to have their voices heard. The response from the right? Intimidate anyone who disagrees with them.

    Thugs.

    1. I’m not buying it. Sorry.  Any idiot kid could have done that to his car.  He doesn’t get to choose who to blame with zero evidence.

    2. If he had a bumper sticker or some such I would believe that it was possible that someone from my side did this.  As it is, this could just as easily be a random act.  I wonder if he checked to see if there are security cameras covering the lot?

      1. You guys will defend ANYTHING won’t you? The guy had a pro-health care flyer clearly visible on his seat. There were other more valuable cars all around.

        He was targeted.

Frankly you “sane” Republicans’ refusal to acknowledge what these people are doing while they commit crimes all over the country is sickening. The best comparisons I can come up with all violate Godwin’s Law…

        1. If the parking lot video camera’s show someone who was clearly involved with the protest, or who was prowling the parking lot looking around for an Obamacare supporters car to vandalize, then you have a basis for blaming Republicans.  Until then you are just going off with your own mob mentality.

Here’s a few questions that you might want to mull over if you can get a few neurons firing in a logical manner.  Were there any other cars vandalized in the lot?  Did any of them have political stickers/flyers anywhere on them?  If the answer to the second is yes, then you have a reason to continue the paranoid ranting.  Otherwise, you just look like a nut.

        2. Upset that you’d paid your registration fees and fed the machine.

Honestly, I’m sorry it happened to you.  It’s bullshit, and undeserved.

But you don’t know who did it at this point.  Why accuse?

  2. Where’s the republic party leadership? Again, Cantor gives a wink and a nod to his extremist buddy Rush Limbaugh and his ditto head followers to attack the President as a Nazi.

In the wake of comments from Rush Limbaugh equating Barack Obama to Hitler, a leading Jewish Democratic organization is calling on the House of Representatives’ lone Jewish Republican to repudiate the talk show host.

On Friday, National Jewish Democratic Council David Harris called on House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to denounce Limbaugh’s remarks. Pointing out that the Virginia Republican had said more “Limbaughs” were needed in the GOP just last week, Harris called on “Cantor and the Republican Party to condemn Limbaugh and these utterly contemptible tactics.”

“Mr. Cantor, after Rush’s website antics today and comments yesterday, do you really still think you ‘need’ Limbaugh?” his statement read.

This is what has become of the republican party.

      1. Why must you deflect? This is happening NOW. Face reality. The fringe of the republican party has gone too far and it’s being embraced by the leadership.

This is way past opposition to health care reform, it has become a mob filled with lunatics (teabaggers, birther, etc.).

By deflecting, you too are embracing their actions and conspiracy theories campaigns.

        1. I condemn anyone threatening or perpetrating violence. If you are comparing anything in American politics to Nazis, you are ignorant of history.

Now, let’s hear you condemn the SEIU for their actions in St. Louis.

          1. I read the STL Post dispatch which said nothing of SEIU taking part in the same types of actions of the teabaggers – who by the way went and protested SEIU’s office today! I can’t condemn SEIU for something that havent done.

Like I said, this mob has gone beyond having objections to health care – they’re literally targeting groups and individuals. SEIU has been receiving death threats from the crazies on the right.

            This crap must end.

  3. McConnell went on Fox this morning to give two thumbs up to his fringe base for the mob they’ve created to intimidate members of Congress and physically assault their own neighbors. Good job Mitch, this is on your hands too.
