► History was made — again — in Philadelphia on Tuesday when Hillary Clinton officially became the first woman in American history to capture a major party nomination for President.
Day Two of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) also involved a Clinton. Former President Bill Clinton delivered a powerful speech intended to help humanize his wife, Hillary. For more DNC coverage from Tuesday, check out winners and losers from “The Fix.” Or check out this story for more on how Colorado supporters of Bernie Sanders are encouraging their brethren to come together for Hillary Clinton.
► Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump publicly called on Russia to hack into Hillary Clinton’s emails in attempts to expose negative information about the Democratic Presidential nominee.
Let’s say that one more time: Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump publicly called on Russia to hack into Hillary Clinton’s emails…
► Colorado Republican Senate candidate Darryl Glenn is getting a firsthand look at one of the oldest lines in politics: The cover-up is (almost) always worse than the crime. Glenn is defending his own remarks to reporters that an old altercation with his father — dating to 1983 — may have involved someone else named Darryl Glenn. A different Darryl Glenn who somehow ended up with the same social security number as the Republican nominee for Senate. Seriously.

► Senator Michael Bennet (D-Denver) announced on Tuesday that the Colorado Department of Transportation will receive $15 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation to help fund an expansion of I-25 between Ft. Collins and Loveland.
► Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper nabbed one of the most coveted speaking slots at the DNC. Hick will speak on Thursday evening, not long before Hillary Clinton will take the stage to accept the Democratic nomination for President.
Elsewhere, John Frank of the Denver Post reports Hickenlooper as saying he would be unlikely to accept a potential Cabinet position in a Hillary Clinton administration. We can’t explain this one.
► State Sen. Laura Waters Woods (R-Arvada) is mad as heck about some of her campaign signs being vandalized. Apparently, she is the only politician in the history of Colorado who has experienced vandalized yard signs.
► Donald Trump is coming to Colorado Springs on Friday for a fundraiser on his behalf. Trump will also attend public events in both Colorado Springs and Denver before getting back on an orange-eye flight.
► The Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry (CACI) is again supporting more Republicans than Democrats in legislative races this fall. Why this is news, we have no idea.
► Conservation Colorado announced its support for a local control ballot measure this fall.
► Ben Higgins is not a martyr.
► The oil and gas industry is not the economic juggernaut in Colorado that supporters would have you believe. And it has nothing to do with regulations.
