"Vote for me and I'll set you free!" (Temptations, "Ball of Confusion," 1970).
Great song! Groundbreaking in its tone and feel, as I recall it.
Sweet..thanks, ajb….that funky guitar during the instrumental at about 2:42 is way cool.
A truly sad day in sports. Kickass Queen Pat Summitt dies, as does football's Buddy Ryan.

I think this is also an important day to make campaign contributions to be included in the second quarter fundraising reports. (At least, that's why I must be getting all of those personal phone calls from state politicians. That, or it's my sparkling personality.)
Personally, I don't donate to a church. Instead, I donate to various nonprofits and to Democratic politicians. I figure that the Dems can do more to help our society than any church.
Some of them do claim to be doing god's work.
Supreme Court Declines to Hear Religious Freedom Case From Pharmacist Who Refused to Supply Emergency Contraception, Alito Has a Sad

I think what the present no longer majority conservative court is both doing and not doing should provide all the motivation the hardcore "Or Busters" need to stop whining and looking for conspiracies and support HRC .The rest of us will just have to get it done for those misguided statement making lefties with no more sense than a piece of toast.
I can see (but not agree) refusing HIV meds and contraceptives, but Valium? Insulin? WTF! I'm glad the majority saw how stupid and dangerous this practice was before someone died.
These scumbags refuse to sell Insulin? I've been diabetic 45 years and would be blind or dead without insulin. Somebody should firebomb these swine and refuse to put water on the blaze because if the lord wanted itvto rain, it would happen.
How can you see refusing HIV meds? Where's the religious argument for that?
HIV meds? That one's a mystery but there's really no justification for refusing to fill any prescription. If you're prevented by your religion from filling any sort of perfectly legal prescription then you belong in another line of work because that's the biggest part of the job description. You fill prescriptions. Anyone in possession of a legitimate prescription has the right to get that prescription filled at any pharmacy that is a public business. Period. Religious freedom doesn't mean that every job or business will be a good fit for people of every religious persuasion.
They could claim that HIV is a "behavioral disease". Remember, I didn't say I agreed with them. But I could imagine some pushy Jesus-freak claiming it was a judgement from their god. And, of course, a Catholic-owned pharmacy would feel perfectly rightious not to stock contraceptives or Plan B.
