TOP OF MIND TODAY…
► Colorado is strengthening its rules for childhood vaccinations. Colorado immunization rates are among the lowest in the nation, which is not good.
► What does “justice” have to do with “Personhood?” Absolutely nothing, of course, but get ready to hear that word another 10,000 times.

SHOULD YOU FIND YOURSELF STANDING NEAR A WATER COOLER…
► A State Senate committee killed a bill that would have allowed local municipalities to raise the minimum wage on their own. Some Republicans were worried that — GASP! — Colorado might end up with several different minimum wages. Everyone must be underpaid equally!
► Log Cabin Republicans have been dis-invited from attending July’s Western Conservative Summit on account of being gay. But while the group can’t officially attend the annual gathering hosted by Colorado Christian University, they can still come as individuals (YAY!). As Lynn Bartels of the Denver Post explains:
Alexander Hornaday, spokesman for the Colorado Log Cabin Republicans, said the group was invited to participate in the summit at a discount rate by the Center Right Coalition. The summit this week refunded their $250 fee and informed the group it couldn’t attend “as a partner, exhibitor or advertiser.”
[John] Andrews told Log Cabin Republicans that their “worldview and policy agenda are fundamentally at odds with what Colorado Christian University stands for, so it’s just not a fit. I’m sorry it has to be that way.” [Pols emphasis]
Um, it doesn’t have to be this way, but at least former state senator John Andrews was as demeaning as possible in his explanation.
► The Department of Veterans Affairs would like to add another building to the blueprints of the Aurora hospital it can’t build.
► Wait, Aurora is still trying to figure out what to do with City Manager Skip Noe? Somebody, please, just make a decision already.
► Perhaps Rep. Justin Everett was better off when he was sleeping in and missing the start of the day in the State House. Yesterday he led off the morning with a bizarre attempt to force a floor vote that would overturn a prior decision made by a House Committee. It didn’t work, needless to say.

► The editorial board of the New York Times is not happy with the Senate’s plan to accept a plan that would let them ignore President Obama’s plan for dealing with Iran. Senator Cory Gardner took his cherubic mug to NBC’s “Morning Joe” to talk about the Iran Plan Plan.
► Offshore tax havens for large corporations cost Colorado big bucks. House Democrats have a plan to change that.
► Good work, Rep. Ken Buck! Your senseless fear-mongering created a bunch of work for a lot of people.
► Marijuana is legal in Colorado. It’s done. Get over it.
ICYMI
► The Denver Nuggets ended their train wreck of a season with a loss to Golden State.
► The fourth time is the charm when it comes to DUI offenders.
