The Sunday New York Times published a fairly critical article on the state of the Dem National Convention here in Denver today.

Unfortunately, it makes the party and Denver look kind of bad (perhaps rightly so to an extent on this particular issue).
I couldn’t really find a particular passage to quote but it’s an interesting article.
The Democratic Party also made a response statement that can be found here
http://www.democrats.org/a/200…
Dean sounds pretty pissed off, and while there is probably some truth to both the NYT and Democratic Party opinions, it is interesting for Dean to say we are ahead of the game when it isn’t really a secret that fundraising is a little slower than anticipated (The Denver Post has published a couple of articles on this already I believe).
Am I wrong? Should we believe Dean or the NYT? What do people that may be involved with the Convention planning process on this website (if there are any) have to say about the issue? Is this going to be an embarrassment for our city and the party if those involved don’t dramatically pick up the pace?

Sounds like Van Halen’s contract rider: No red M&Ms!
The Democratic Party put up the funding targets that they’ve missed, but they don’t seem to ever make them. In the end, the party still comes up with the cash somehow.
