assume you are agreeing with most R's and Cons that the EPA is a terrorist organization and should be eliminated so your best friends in the oil and gas biz can do as they please.
Oh, you GOP Fossil Fuels Fools and your massive rallies. It's a sad and almost pathetic state, when you equate voluntary, slavish dependence on finite, increasingly expensive resources, and ignorant devotion to their price-fixing, union-busting, company-town owning, toxic waste dumping industries…. as "FREEDOM".
But at least they bought everybody those nifty t-shirts, huh?
Payroll deduction, no doubt . . .
" . . . I owe my soul to the company store."
Fools protesting laws that have been in effect in Colorado for over 4 years : http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2014/06/05/3444912/epa-rule-colorado/
That probably explains why Colorado unemployment is over 10% and gasoline costs $10 a gallon, right? (just helping Moddy and AC)
The KochBrothers (AFP) have over $1G to spend on politics and the best they can do is get 100 people to a rally?
Astroturf ain't cheap.
Nice red shirts, though.
As usual, R's can't get their story (it would be too much to call their ideas a "philosophy") straight on the EPA and fracking.
First, the want to get rid of the EPA and call it a terrorist organization.
Yeah, because we can't remember the smog in L.A. or Love Canal, not to mention the ecological nightmares China has created for itself, and Great American Entrepeneurs like the Koch Brothers and Freedom Industries should be allowed to make the maximum profit from our nation's resources without any regulations.
But wait! That "terrorist" EPA approves of fracking, and is used in those stupid sock puppet ads running in our state (and probably many others) that attempt to fool people into thinking fracking doesn't need regulations and is just like harvesting snow flakes.
So, Republicans would have you believe the terrorist EPA supports fracking and this somehow makes sense.
Thanks, R's, for being crazier than ever in service to your Billionaire Overlords.
Those sure are some fancy 'grassroots' signs the folks put together there, and they do look cute in their Americans for Prosperity T Shirts. But why are they so far away from the Capitol?
To leave space so they can Photoshop in a lot more people?
Where were they 4 years ago? Four years ago, the legislature along with the state’s largest utility, Xcel, agreed to an ambitious plan to cut air pollution by retiring coal-fired plants and replacing them with cleaner-burning natural gas plants and renewable energy. Hundreds of megawatts of dirty power are disappearing as a result, and the air and public health along the state’s populous Front Range are benefiting. Then a member of the state House, Gardner did not vote on the bill on final passage, which cleared the House 53-12 and the state Senate 20-13.
The astroturfers like @AFPcolorado @CREDorg etc., with their narrow and totally self-interested motivations and transparent campaigns…have all the cash, and are focused on gutting regulations so Americans pay for their mess while they offshore the profits and export the resource. Meanwhile the nutsos that talk personhood and impeachment have all the passion. The GOP pols, whose failed leadership and their consultants' malevolent mistakes, created the mess, are torn asunder between, lick-spittling their cash constituents and terrified of the 'base' that wants to send America back to the mid-20th century (the progressive ones, late-18th century for the others). .
Man, I just attended a funeral that was larger than this joke.
A well-respected Coloradan passed away today.
Oh, shame on you, President Obama!!! Hang down your head, Tom Dooley!!!
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-28567689
US economy grows by 4%–headline in that commie red news organization the BBC.
but The Libarian (sic) said he's a Socialist!!!!! How can this be?
Well, the Post says BWB is a moderate. By that standard I suppose Obama is a socialist and Ike was a mad dog, out of control, enemy of the people communist. Who knows what color the sky is in the universe of those definitions.
I noted that comment in the Sunday Post article and fired off a letter to the editor questioning their definition of "moderate". Haven't heard back from them, so I'm not holding my breath that they'll publish it.
Looks like "BWB is a moderate" will be the editorial board's continuing narrative up through their presumed endorsement. I'm sure the infotainment value of a BWB administration has them licking their lips over his possible victory.
Anyone can comment in the comment section of the post. Some people read it more than the letters to the editor. I would just put in a few choice BWB quotes.
He's a birther, he thinks we need protection from Sharia law, he's fond of the Arizona "papers please'law, he blamed the murder of Corrections chief Tom Clements on Governor Hickenlooper, he thinks that climate change is a hoax.
MJ, Polis is afraid to debate Leing. Polis' numbers are in the tank and he is afraid of his shadow.
http://blogs.denverpost.com/thespot/2014/07/30/jared-polis-club-20-george-leing/111198/#disqus_thread
Leing? Is that the sacrificial elephant they're running against Polis? This is the first time I've heard hs name; which is probably bad for him
The site's most notorious chickenshit when it comes to debate is pointing his little feathery wing at Polis?
Fear? From the article:
You know how it works, AC. You don't go raising name rec for your unknown opponent when you're the incumbent. Unless you don't know how any of this works? Or you really do think Polis isn't going to win his safe district?
The things trolls have to say, poor old thing. Ever resent having to make yourself look so clueless in the service of your party's spin machine?
What resentment?!? He's proven that he really is truly clueless. (He's meet all the prerequisites for the job.)
Cory's friend brings the word of the awesome write up in today's Colorado Organ (@TheCONews):
One Response to Poll: Democrats’ ‘War on Women’ has Backfired

It’s Gardner and his 100% pro-life voting record against pro-abortion Sen. Mark Udall and his consistent voting record in favor of unlimited abortions funded at taxpayer expense. We’ll take Cory any day!
Get involved in supporting Cory Gardner by contacting Colorado Citizens for Life on Facebook or Twitter at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Colorado-Citizens-for-Life/271148383026675?ref=hl and https://twitter.com/coloradoprolife
A little premature. When Corey wins by receiving the majority of women's votes, that will be the time to declare pro-choice a stance (though not one that includes unlimited abortions at tax payer expense which is already barred) that has backfired.
BTW I don't see any justification for preventing federal funds to be spent on any perfectly legal medical procedure. It makes no more sense than bans on federal funds for blood transfusions out of consideration for those whose religion says they are wrong. One legal procedure shouldn't be treated differently than any other. But that's another discussion.
You must wonder what I'm replying to in your comment, ct. It was supposed to be someplace else entirely in response to one of Modsters. Don't know WTF happened. Sorry!
I was mildly confused
Impeachment: Steven King (Dumbass-IA) says not for impeachment but changes his mind within seconds. I'm tempted to give money to D's right now just so they can rub it in Boehner's orange face.
See. It's a great fund raiser.
I think most people understand that, as we phase out the use of out-dated technology and the natural resources it takes to drive it, there will be a need to help retrain and support the workforce that will be displaced. A small demonstration of real people who work in the coal industry can be given the same empathy and caring as the millions of workers who are clamoring for a living wage…no more…no less.
They are not to blame for caring for their families and their livlihoods. It is our societies', and their employers', responsibility to help them evolve.
I don't blame Coal, or Oil and Gas workers. After all, those industries make damn sure that opportunities in their territories are limited, so it gives them little choice, if they want to support their families.
Its a pubic hearing, certainly coal miners have an important part in the discussion and no one here that I see is blaming folks for taking the jobs they need to support their families. Well, except for Dusty maybe, but he could get other work or stay on Mike Coffman's tax-footed payroll.
Guess I shoulda said, "most people here"…
but, you guys are right…I would wager they were mostly being paid to be there.
Of course they were paid to be there, including expenses.
Testimony at the EPA hearing yesterday went about 5 to one on favor of the proposed rules. testimony has been carried into today. We have two folks from CCA (Citizens for Clean Air) who will testify today, I think. Peggy Rawlins, a veteran of the Garco gas wars and Karen Sjoberg, CCAs' able leader, are chiming in today.
What you get when you underfund regulatory agencies and discourage their proper functioning:
Congratulations, Republicans, for the Mission Accomplished.
Bingo…great cartoon….
It's mostly fossil fuel employees and their families involved in the rallies … a solid GOTP constituency.
Gardner votes to 'sue' the president. That's some fiscal managment to be proud of, huh? And talk about leadership! The way he dutifully follows Speaker Boehner, 'leader' of the most worthless US Congress ever in the history of humanity (I mean by the normal metrics of doing shit) who cannot even bring an immigration bill without wetting his pants. I think this plays well and will not provide a weeks or two worth of fun. Oh My!
” If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” Udall’s job approval is good, by most measures. . What’s the righties problem? Other than a (D) after his name? He gave a heads up on NSA over reach, reached across the aisle during a State of the Union speech, did a good job for Colo’s flood recovery. Promotes alternative energy, on and on. The independent middle doesn’t want a whacked cult (astro turf righties) governing.
Gardner’s latest ad appeals to stump jumpers ( he is sitting on a stump),Previous ads promise Cory "will shake things up" in the Senate, which in the US House has meant inane blockage thru absenteeism, of action needed to improve the lot of working class America.
Now he wants to do more of the same in the Senate, What vision does he bring? leadership? Brace for impact, and get ready for it, “he can tie his shoes!” (The camera pans down, maybe they use a stunt double for the actual tying)
Oh and 5 sounts were returned agains Sen. Steve King R-Florence (future) including 3 felonies.
One of you locals oughtta blog it.
Ralphie ought to, he has followed it most closely I think. GJ/Mesa County is a cesspool of corruption by all appearances.
Somebody at Mesa State and at the sheriffs’ office had to be involved….
Abel Tapia will be at the Olathe Corn Festival August 2.
