Alice Madden to Department of Energy

Democrat Alice Madden, a former House Majority Leader and most recently the Wirth Chair in Sustainable Development at the University of Colorado, has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Energy. Madden's new, really long title is: Deputy Assistant Secretary of  Intergovernmental Affairs and External Relations.

Udall Congratulates Coloradan Alice Madden on Appointment to U.S. Department of Energy

Mark Udall, who serves on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, welcomed former Colorado State House Majority Leader Alice Madden's appointment to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Intergovernmental Affairs and External Relations at the U.S. Department of Energy. Madden is currently the Wirth Chair in Sustainable Development at the University of Colorado and previously served four terms in the Colorado House of Representatives.

"Alice has been a strong ally in the push to make Colorado’s clean energy economy a model for the nation," Udall said. "Her expertise in sustainable development and her solid understanding of the environmental and economic impacts of global warming will make her a terrific asset to the Department of Energy and our entire country.
