TAKE ACTION: Rep. Gabe Evans backs Victor Marx while other Republicans run away

Last week, Victor Marx officially claimed the Republican nomination to be the next governor of Colorado.

Victor Marx could be the biggest disaster for Colorado Republicans in decades. Republicans just nominated a man who claims he started killing people at age 7, and whose grandiose tales of a life spent rescuing tens of thousands of children and battling terrorists don’t hold up to scrutiny. Marx runs a multimillion-dollar “ministry” in southern Colorado through which he conducts “exorcisms” by telephone.

Victor Marx could be the most unqualified and fraudulent candidate Republicans have ever nominated in Colorado, and that’s no small statement.

But then, something even crazier happened.

Rep. Gabe Evans, considered by political experts to be the most vulnerable member of Congress in the entire country, threw his support behind Victor Marx. [1]

Gabe Evans’ support for Victor Marx makes absolutely no sense. It’s impossible to believe that Evans was not aware of Marx’s problems after the nationwide attention this race has received in recent weeks. Even Marx’s two opponents in the Republican race for governor, Barb Kirkmeyer and Scott Bottoms, said they would not support him.

Victor Marx would be a nightmare for Colorado as governor, though he’s more likely to destroy the Colorado Republican Party and drag down other conservative candidates across the ballot. Normalizing Victor Marx could be Gabe Evans’ worst mistake yet. After relentlessly supporting Donald Trump while the residents of Evans’ district struggled with higher prices for everything and cuts to the programs that protect us all, backing Victor Marx for governor is Gabe Evans’ ultimate insult.

Call Gabe Evans right now at any of his offices and demand he withdraw his support for Victor Marx.

Washington, D.C. Office: (202) 225-5625
Northglenn District Office: (303) 723-6560
Greeley District Office: (970) 324-2567

If Victor Marx proves to be the disaster for Colorado Republicans that many now expect, Gabe Evans will, at some point, be forced to run away from Marx. But even if Evans immediately realizes his mistake and rescinds his support for Marx, this is yet another disqualifying error in judgment. After covering for Trump’s mass deportations, voting to directly hurt his constituents with the “Big Horrible Bill,” and now backing either a liar or a killer for governor of Colorado, Gabe Evans has proven over and over that he has no business representing Colorado in Congress.

Thanks for doing your part to demand better from our elected officials.
