Tina Peters Speaks...and Buries Jared Polis

In the week since Gov. Jared Polis inexplicably commuted the sentence of Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters, he has been hammered in national headlines; slammed by elected Democrats; and censured by the Colorado Democratic Party. The blowback hasn’t just come from Democrats, either; today the nonpartisan League of Women Voters announced that it was rescinding the “2026 Leaders of Democracy” award that it had planned to present to Polis next month.

Polis spent the week digging himself a deeper hole over Peters. This morning, Peters helped bury the Governor’s legacy once and for all.

Peters fired up her social media machine from jail so that she could defend Polis for commuting her sentence. In doing so, she confirmed every fear from critics that Polis’ commutation would serve only to reinforce the election denialism that led to her conviction in the first place.

If you were under the impression that Peters was actually going to own up to her election denialism and start singing a different tune…well, of course not. As she writes on ‘X’:

It should be obvious to Democrats and Republicans alike that they have something to hide. It is so obvious that they are willing to continue destroying people’s lives to cover it up.

The real victims are the people of Colorado. The real victims are every voter who deserves honest, fair and transparent elections.

I thank Governor Polis for being willing to stand up in the middle of this persecution and do what he believed was right.

I have always said I will never back down, I will never give up, and I will never give in. I will always stand for truth, transparency, and fairness in our elections.

No matter how hard people like Jenna Griswold [sic] and Phil Weiser try to cover up what was done to the people of Colorado, I will keep speaking the truth.

The censure of Governor Polis shows just how radical the left has truly become. And if they are this afraid of mercy being shown to one whistleblower, the public should ask what they are still trying so hard to hide.

Peters calls herself a persecuted “whistleblower” and says that she will continue to speak out about her fake claims of election fraud. Jared Polis has now been roped into that election denialism whether he likes it or not.

If you didn’t see this coming, you just haven’t been paying attention.
