Initial eyewitness reports we’ve received suggest that today’s “Tax Day Tea Party” at the Colorado state capitol had a disappointing turnout–the photo we received a little while ago above suggests as much. One source tells us that the crowd was no more than 500 people based on estimates of prior events on the West Steps. If that estimate is right, it’s a significant decline from previous Tax Day protests. Wait, maybe it’s because Tax Day falls on Monday April 18th, not April 15th this year due to Washington, DC’s observance of Emancipation Day? You’re right, too damn much to explain.
UPDATE: It may have been sparsely attended, but Secretary of State Scott Gessler was at the Tax Day Tea Party, furthering that “conservative viewpoint.” Nice day to be out, anyway:
