Hick can't handle Mayor job; how can he handle Guv ?

John Hickenlooper found out 16 months ago that there was video of the LoDo beatdown of a young man by a Denver patrolman, and that another policeman filed a false report to cover it up.  

He found out 14 months ago that the Director of Safety that he appointed had decided to do nothing about it.  Practically nothing.  

He found out 13 months ago that an impartial reviewer recommended firing the policeman who inflicted the assault and the policeman who filed a falsified report covering it up.

Since then, on the advice of most here at ColoradoPols, John has chosen to go on vacation, so that he couldn’t say or do anything in the public eye to derail his campaign for Governor.  

And evidently thought the video should be suppressed, or did nothing while others suppressed it for 16 months.

Some Polsters say, “wait for DUE PROCESS to run its course.”  Due process ran its course over a year ago.  

Some Polsters say Hick has to let the bad judgment of subordinates stand, or he’s undermining/ violating the chain of command.  These are folks who have never been responsible for the performance of subordinates, regardless of what their job descriptions might have said.  Leaders hold subordinates accountable.  It’s what they do.    

Some Polsters say I’m bad for pointing out that Hick is unqualified to be Guv.  What can I say ?

The Guv job calls for decisive leadership, at least once in a while.  In that respect, poor Hick is less qualified for the job than DannyBoy Maes, who at least can make a decision, though his decisions aren’t always good.  

If Mr. Hickenlooper had been a competent leader as Mayor, how would he have responded a year ago to the decision of the Director of Safety to cover up and excuse the beatdown, and then the false report ?  

Does he even get the concept of Public Trust ?

And who leaked that blasted tape out ?  Everything would have been just fine, if the Public never found out what really doesn’t concern them.
