Issues vs 'tickin'

  •
  • by: JO

Issues; What should be the role of government in economic recovery? What’s the relative importance of reducing the deficit vs bringing down unemployment? Is there anything voters can do about the sclerosis afficting the United States Senate, and therefore the entire federal government?

Politickin’: Did you hear what [Candidate X] said on the radio last night? Wow, the losing Republican in the Senate primary got more votes than the winning Democrat. Here’s the outcome in Mesa County. I was so offended by the choice of words in one of the commercials that ran during the primary that I’d change my vote if that candidate won the nomination!

Where, in either discussion, does this language fit?

–He’s fartin’ in the elevator.”

–If you think that, you’re insane

–“You suck.”

–S/he’s just a shill, LIAR…

–“Blow me, genius.”

What purpose does this site serve for people who use it? A. Discuss issues. B. Gossip about people with folks who agree. C. An online pub. What is the role of the site’s editors in all this? Does Gresham’s Law apply to blogs as well as to markets?
