The Scott McInnis campaign doesn’t say “democratic” as in “My Democratic Party opponent.” Everything is simply “democrat” which has of course become some kind of talk-radio code for “bad person” and so the McInnis campaign likes using the word a lot in relation to his gubernatorial opponent John Hickenlooper.
Question number one: Were they playing a drinking game at the McInnis offices when they drafted this recent release?
Scott McInnis, Republican candidate for Governor, today commented on the Democrat Denver Mayor’s “Jobs for Bureaucrats” strategy.
“Today, the Democrat candidate for Governor released a typical Democrat approach to job creation: layers of bureaucracy, an extended process of meetings and task forces, and a commitment to expand government programs. Bringing an Obama-style playbook to Colorado won’t score points for jobs, small business or working families. The Democrats have a tendency to confuse activity with accomplishment,” McInnis said.
No matter the topic, something written like this clangs as puerile. “Check it out, we keep saying democrat, hee hee hee!”
Question number two: How does this kind of McInnis heavy breathing release win votes? It’s not preaching to Republicans; it’s preaching to wingers, isn’t it? And they’re sure as hell not going to vote for Hickenlooper.
