Diggs Brown City Council allies endorse Cory Gardner

Cory Gardner this afternoon posted a list of endorsements from Colorado elected officials. See the list here:

What caught my eye were the endorsements by Wade Troxell and Kurt Kastein. Troxell currently serves on the council, replacing Kastein when he was term-limited. Both were allies of Brown on the council, and both are now endorsing Gardner.

Cathy Hutchinson, the wife and political advisor for Mayor Doug Hutchinson, also is on the list. Hizzoner also was a Brown ally on the council and is, I believe, remaining neutral in the race.

The endorsements are significant in that Brown’s strategy in the Republican 4th Congressional District race has been to build a base in Fort Collins and radiate out. These endorsements of Gardner don’t help that strategy, obviously.
