Rep. Navarro, if you have any construction experience, I expect President TRUMP™ will need someone he can rely on to oversee the wall project. I bet it would cheer your fellow Coloradans to see a familiar face as they're forcibly removed across the border.
Maybe you can help them stay in touch with the children they leave behind, too. Perhaps put phones and some bulletproof window glass in strategic locations.

I didn't have a candidate in the race. I'm not a Democrat. I didn't vote for Hillary. I do, however, have a number of friends whose children I've watched grow up, with whose families I've dined and celebrated events, and with whom I've been talking over the last 1/2 a day about the fear they feel as they weep.
Your guy said he's going to ship my friends out of the country and let them decide if their native-born children should make the trip with them. I didn't lose, people I care about did.
And those aren't talking points, those are the words your guy said out of his own mouth.
They knew the risk they were taking when they came. Mexico is a great place they should not fear going home.

I have mixed feelings about this. As a retired teacher, I have taught many of these children brought illegally into the United States through no fault of their own. I do think these youngsters should have a pathway to citizenship. We certainly have invested a lot of money for their education and, for many, this is the only country they know.
For adults, who knowingly came into the U.S. illegally, there should be no pathway to citizenship. They should not be rewarded for breaking our laws. (That does not necessarily mean they should be deported though.) Citizenship is not a door prize to be handed out to those illegals who did not get caught at the border or get caught overstaying a visa.
The American people did not cause this problem, nor did the U.S. government. It was directly caused by foreign adults, who chose to ignore and violate U.S. laws, to do what they wanted. They have put their children into a terrible position.
I have no problem with Trump's statement above. "A special deportation task force focused on identifying and quickly removing the most dangerous criminal illegal immigrants in America who have evaded justice" seems like a very practical plan It certainly helps protect U.S. citizens and lawful residents in our country.
OK, it was just the first one I found. How about this one?
Clearly, deporting 11 plus million is not practical, but are we just supposed to sit by and wink, when adult illegal immigrants deliberately break our laws for their own benefit? We certainly should not be expected to reward them with U.S. citizenship.
Any immigration reform we pass needs to come with this requirement: The country of origin of the illegal must extend the same immigration reform to Americans wanting to settle in their country. Those countries will refuse to do so… citing the need for them to retain their nation's sovereignty.
Well, the door swings both ways. The United States has every right to control who comes and stays in our country as well.
Absolutely. Melania should have to go back to the beginning of the line, pay a fine, and prove that she can speak English so she doesn't have to plagiarize other First Lady's speeches.
"Anyone who has entered the United States illegally is subject to deportation" just happens to be the law. When the executive orders Obama issued come off the books we will enforce our laws. If you don't like the laws you elect people to change them. Near as I can tell, the folks who just got elected are unlikely to knock that one off the books.

The vast majority of illegals are here because of jobs, plain and simple. The bi-partisan Immigration and Reform Control Act was enacted in 1986 and signed into law by President Ronald Reagan. That law made it illegal for a business to employ an undocumented alien (or hire by contract as well). But the law was never enforced, that's why there are at least 12 million illegals here now, as opposed to only 3 million when that law was passed. Since the federal government didn't enforce the law and prosecute companies hiring illegals, then it's negligence in failing to enforce the law is a direct and proximate cause of illegal immigration, so the U.S. government, to a large extent, did cause this problem .
Likewise, the Colorado Legislature has repeatedly refused to require the mandatory use by employers of E-Verify which verifies the legal status of workers, a very effective way of greatly reducing illegal employment and thus illegal immigration. So the State of Colorado, to a large extent, did cause this problem.
The problem of illegal immigration and the illegals already living here was front and center in the election ( build a wall !, deport them !, give them amnesty !, sanctuary cities !). But not a word heard about illegal employment.
Yes, those "foreign adults" broke the law by entering the country illegally, but you never hear anything about the persons or businesses that hired them illegally. Instead of demonizing the illegals who, in the vast majority of cases, came here to work to provide for themselves and their families a better life, lets talk about governments who fail to enforce the law and therefore enable the problem, and the businesses that illegally employ undocumented workers to fatten their bank accounts.

Personally, I hope that Trump enforces each and every law to the fullest extent that he can. I think that's the only way to build a coalition that can pass comprehensive immigration reform. Right now, businesses that depend on undocumented workers (ag, construction, low wage services) have a free ride. They can support Republicans for the tax cuts, fully knowing that their labor force is not in any significant jeopardy. Once they have to choose, they'll have that come to Jesus moment. The band-aid approach we have now isn't working and it's just pissing off everyone.
