Trump's HHS nominee  drug CEO Alex Azar checks some boxes:

    Super rich: check

Representing an industry that exploits the poor, elderly, and sick: check

Big donor industry for the GOP: check

Industry that worked against the Affordable Care Act: check

    No experience in governance: check

Avowed enemy of the department he will head: check

The only box not checked is Russian influence, but I expect that will come to light eventually.

“He will be a star for better healthcare and lower drug prices!” Trump tweeted. Fox, meet henhouse.

It looks like we had a hostage situation in the Philippines over the weekend that went unreported by #FakeNews

  3. In case you missed it, there was a not-coup in Zimbabwe overnight. Why isit not a coup? Not really sure. But Mugabe is "safe and secure" under arrest, his wife is apparently out of the country, and at least one cabinet minister has been arrested. Ousted VP Mnangagwa will be interim President "to preserve the democracy". Considering Mugabe's long history of abuse of that system, the systemic corruption, and the attempt to install his much younger wife as successor, who knows…

Smith debunks his network’s favorite Hillary Clinton ‘scandal,’ infuriates viewers

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith debunked what his own network has called the Hillary Clinton uranium “scandal,” infuriating Fox viewers, some of whom suggested that he ought to work for CNN or MSNBC.

Smith’s critique, which called President Trump’s accusations against Clinton “inaccurate,” was triggered by renewed calls from Republicans on Capitol Hill for a special counsel to investigate Clinton.

Maybe if folks recast the issue of ocean rise in Biblical terms of Noah then maybe our reluctant Evangelicals could be persuaded that old problems are really new problems.

    • Are you kidding? Those who didn't survive the Great Flood were irredeemable sinners. As God's Chosen, this bunch figures they'll all come through okay – or be taken up in to Heaven so that they can fight on the side of Righteousness in the Apocalypse. They're all looking forward to that day anyway.

    • Diogenesdemar says:

Nope.  Spend more time with the Bible.  You’re forgetting rainbows — god’s seal that he’ll never destroy the earth again with flooding . . .

      . . . rising ocean levels?  Just another god-denying, phony-science liberal lie.

    What is past is prologue…..

And Johnson's decision is on the merits (or lack thereof) of the tax bill itself. He is not opposing it because they are cross pollinating the tax bill with the repeal of O-care.
