► Senator Michael Bennet (D-Denver) has introduced The LGBT Elder Americans Act in Congress. From the Durango Herald:
[The act] would build upon the Older Americans Act to include LGBT seniors as a vulnerable population and permanently establish the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging…
…As the number of Americans age 65 and older surges during the next few decades, the number of LGBT seniors is estimated to double to 3 million by 2030. Lawmakers sponsoring the bill point to research that shows LGBT seniors have fewer sources of support compared with heterosexual people and therefore face higher poverty rates and experience poor health and health access.

Relief to unload Lawson, especially since we saw some very promising players in summer league. We were so lucky to get Mudiay at 7th. Love everything about the kid. Jameer Nelson is definitely the better choice to mentor our new young point guard and pretty solid himself, great locker room presence. You pretty much wouldn't want a young player to be under Ty's influence at all, not that 19 year old Mudiay doesn't already show way too much sense and maturity to let himself be influenced by someone like Lawson.
Hope rehab does Ty some good but doubt it since it's probably just something he's doing to comply. It will probably take a few trips to rehab, hopefully before he ruins his chances at a decent career.
I hope we'll be signing Ian Clark, too. Rome wasn't built in a day but I'm feeling a lot more hopeful about seeing some good things happen this coming season than I was before. Feel good about new coach after watching summer league, too. Go Nuggets!
And it sure looks like it's going to be one more championship season for the Spurs grey beards and the younger side kicks. Pop sure knows how to manage his vets to keep them from wearing down and how to get the best out of the youngsters. He may piss off fans when he rests stars but he sure doesn't disappoint when it comes to bringing home the rings and his oldsters stay healthy and keep playing. Win/win. Boy did I ever need summer league. Withdrawal was getting tough.
Agree on Mudiay and here's hoping Ty turns things north.
Would like to see several more moves by the Nugs including re-signing D. Arthur and improving the defense by moving either Gallinari (isn't a very good defender) or Faried (doesn't like to play defense).
Looks like they're committed to keeping Darrell. A healthy Gallo gives us lots more offensively than Faried. Early on the talk was about trading both Faried and Ty but then all mention of Faried in connection with trades faded. I'd be fine with losing Faried. We don't need fragile prima donnas.
