GET FOCUSED COLORADO

When a state representative’s decision to change party affiliation becomes the highlight of a seven year stint in the Colorado Legislature, there is little room for speculation as to why  you need to GET FOCUSED COLORADO!

Why aren’t you willing to think outside the box when it comes to public and private education?

We still cling to grades and test scores as though they might be the elusive silver bullet, our security blanket and every explanation for  perceived shortcomings in private and public education now.  It isn’t, “Well, when I was in school…, it’s you’re no longer in school, our young people are and its almost 2008.” 

I can attest, you’re fooling yourself if you believe private education is in any less trouble than public education. 

You are holding on to an outdated, ineffective and unjust system developed in the 1800’s for the 1800’s. 

Why are you so intent upon fostering more discontent and rage by teaming with parents, peers and society to make unreasonable demands of young people, who might otherwise have an opportunity to learn, but who continue to be driven to greater unrealistic expectations? 

Still, you don’t understand why some snap?  Is it that you don’t understand or is it that you refuse to admit the obvious, you’re wrong? 

It’s 2007, the old methods don’t work and we need to work together to foster new ideas that do. 

In the seven years since I ran for the House seat in District 40, I only want to know what each of you [Democrat, Republican and everyone else]has done to improve education for our future.

I’ve criss crossed the country searching for answers, I just wanted you to know what I found.
