but I don’t think they are enough to put aside the doubts that lots of us still have about if she is going to be a strong enough candidate to get er done.
Note that over $44,000 of her contributions came in the last four days, AFTER Angie dropped out of the race. Look at her FEC filing (and that is according to Markey herself, from the Coloradoan article.) These were folks staying out of the race due to it being a three-way primary.
Without that $44 grand, Markey managed to raise, up to that point approximately $70,000. That is horrible fundraising. If Angie had stayed in and posted better numbers, I’m guessing Markey would have been approached by party insiders to reconsider.
Musgrave has $600,000 plus on hand to Markey’s COH…four times at much. If Markey doesn’t bump up her numbers in a huge way, I see zero chance to take this seat. It’s going to move down the pundits list for viable seats. If she’s counting on DCCC money, she’s a fool, particularly when she’s posting numbers like these.
They are raising $250 grand to $400 grand a quarter in the CD2 race. This is peanuts compared to CD2 fundraising.
… give Markey at least a symbolic donation?
See how that works? Meaningless questions…meaningless responses…
