People are up in arms about his challenging all this “WE” business when people talk about the Rockies: “WE’RE winning!” “WE’RE one win from the World Series!”
in reference to the Broncos now that they suck?
Does that mean “we” suck?
that all those ‘foriegn sounding’ last names (of the guys winning the games) are probably illegal aliens taking jobs from good Americans.
But that was when I didn’t care much for jocks and only grudgingly liked sports. That started changing around 11-12 years ago (hmm, when the Avs came to town and won a Stanley Cup, and the Rockies last contended – coincidence???).
But NOQD above has a point (god, I never thought I’d type that phrase) about when the teams are losing – it’s never “we suck!” in that case.
But it’s fun to side with your team when they’re winning, and fans at the game giving their support definitely give a boost to the home team so it’s fine to say “we” IMHO.
Someone’s always picking on him….first it was about the noise on the motorcycles; then it was helmuts…now everyone’s mad at him because why????
I got your “we” right here, crybaby……..when “we” take back “our” airwaves, boyles won’t have to worry about being picked on, anymore, because he will be gone.
Rockies rock our genitals.
That is all.
Call me a party pooper, but this can’t be good for baseball.
I remember in 02 when my team, the Giants, played Anaheim in the WS. Those of us in CA loved it…the rest of the country couldnt care less.
A Rockies-Indians Series could be a disaster…time to start rooting for the Sox…
I find that my cheering really affects the results.
can you hear me now ?
………
and would the Indians have pulled 15 more viewers against the D-backs ?
The Phoenix Metropolitan Statisitcal Area is almost 40% bigger than the Denver MSA. It’s a larger base of people who would even remotely care and bother to watch.
And does cheering change anything…I don’t know. Maybe we should ask your beloved Todd Helton who wanted the hell out of here 7 months ago b/c the team sucked and no one came to the games…
You don’t have to agree…but it’s a valid point.
That the Phoenix MSA didn’t manage to even sell out their own ball park, let alone guarantee seats in front of TVs. So there’s that.
