Allegations of Ballot Box Stuffing in CD2 are TRUE!

  • by: Thomas Bates

And that’s a good thing!

Democrats Work is launching the first-of-its-kind Coats and Cans Primary in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. This innovative “straw poll” urges supporters of the three Democratic candidates – Jean Fitz-Gerald, Jared Polis, and Will Shafroth – to demonstrate their support by donating needed items to local charities and serving their communities. Come out and “vote” for your favorite 2nd Congressional District candidate by donating coats and canned goods at upcoming Democrats Work service events.  The first “polling place” opens on Sunday in Broomfield.  Stuffing the ballot box is encouraged!

One can = one vote; one coat = five votes!  Follow the voting here.

Official Rules (subject to whimsy)

1. Take your coats and cans to one of three “polling places” in the 2nd Congressional District. We will be hosting events in Broomfield, Boulder and Summit counties, but anyone can “vote” in any or all of them!

2. There will be three “voting booths” at each location, one for State Senator Joan Fitz-Gerald, one for Jared Polis, and one for Will Shafroth. Cast your “votes” by placing your donations at your favorite candidate’s voting booth.

3. Each can will count for one vote, and each coat will count for five votes, so start gathering your donations now!

4. All of the goods will be donated to local charities in the 2nd Congressional District in the names of our Democratic candidates.

5. “Stuffing the ballot box” is encouraged. Democrats Work will keep track of the donations attributed to each candidate at each event. The “winner” will be announced in December.

Democrats Work has invited the campaigns for all 2nd Congressional District primary candidates to mobilize their supporters to come out and cast their votes.

Help Democrats Work give back to our communities and continue our mission of building a politics of service.

Democrats Work does not endorse candidates, but we do endorse helping communities. Vote often!
