CD-5, Crank's fund-raising in perspective.

This is quick item… but noteworthy. Jeff Crank just announced that he raised $77,000 in seven weeks. Astounding? Yes. Although we have yet to see how the incumbent, Mr. L, performs, I was curious about Rayburn’s fundraising in 2006. What I learned is incredibly interesting.

Bentley Rayburn, who says he’ll be entering the CD-5 race on Thursday, raised $140,691 in 2006. I’m a pretty simple fellow but even I can do the math. Crank, in seven weeks, raised 54% of what Rayburn raised in six months. (Here’s the link)

Crank has set a high bar. I’m sure Rayburn will work hard to keep pace… seven weeks from now it will be VERY interesting whether he announces how much he has raised.
