And possibly even before. And maybe after 1990 and all the way through 2005!
BUT, that legal residency just may have been in the 5th Congressional District of Washington State, not Colorado, and as a resident of Spokane, Washington.
I believe his father was Robert Rayburn, founder of a religious college, and for whom an obituary was published in 1990 in which it identified his two sons, Robert and Bentley, with Robert being a resident of Tacoma, and BENTLEY RAYBURN BEING OF SPOKANE WASHINGTON.
http://news.google.c… Why wasn’t that Bentley Rayburn of Teller County, Colorado; of Colorado Springs, Colorado?
Is this the dirty little carpetbagging secret Rayburn doesn’t want us to know about–a man who may have opportunistically taken advantage of Washington State’s income tax laws [Washington State does not have a state income tax] for three decades of military duty, and then opportunistically took advantage of Colorado at the last minute on April Fool’s Day, 2006 when it fit his self-serving ambition, and for which we in the 5th CD had to take the burden of having Doug Lamborn as our Congressman because Rayburn played the carpetbagging spoiler in 2006? And, again, perhaps in 2008?
Was Bentley Rayburn claiming residency in Spokane, Washington at least as early as 1990 so as to avoid state income taxes on his military income? Before 1990? And through 2005? Maybe so.
Maybe Bentley changed his residency to Tacoma, Washington later, with the same address as the home which Bentley Rayburn owns in Tacoma and in which his mother lives, and maybe using his brother’s Washington State address at some other times in Bentley’s military career.
Was Bentley Rayburn voting in Washington State? Maybe so. For example, what would voter registration in Spokane, Washington reveal?
Funny thing is, I do not see in General Rayburn’s official military biography any duty assignments in Washington State. http://www.af.mil/bi…. But, carpetbaggers don’t have problems with such untidy little details!
Rayburn graduated from a Missouri high school before enrolling in the USAF Academy. And, if he did claim Washington State as his state of residency while in the military, I would say it simply looks to be a matter of his personal convenience to avoid taxes that he could have been paying to li’l ol’ Colorado, that is, if he really felt this was his home state. You listen to him, and you’d think he was born and raised here!
Certainly General Rayburn won’t mind answering these questions and dispel any notion that he took advantage of Washington State’s income tax laws right up to the time he declared to run for Congress in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District. It’s a sad thing if that’s the case. That would mean that an out-of-state carpetbagger was responsible for splitting the vote in 2006, and giving us Doug Lamborn, and now, that same carpetbagger won’t settle for anything less than being the spoiler that splits the vote again in 2008-and thinks we should reward him as if it’s not his fault we have Doug Lamborn-and who won’t take the blame for giving us Doug Lamborn again in 2008!
In fact, a vote for Bentley Rayburn is a vote for Doug Lamborn, whether at the 5th CD Assembly or in the 5th CD primary.
I have an e-mailed invitation from Bentley and Debbie Rayburn to attend his October 4, 2007 “kickoff” for his 5th CD (Colorado, not Washington) race. He closes with these three sentences, “See you there! Please don’t miss it! It’s all for America!” No. It’s not at all “all for America”. It’s “all for Bentley Rayburn”-and that’s why you WON’T see me there.

I like the question asked whether Rayburn had a “more home” state like Washington State that was “more home” than his “home” state of Colorado. Moving from his “more home” state to his “home” state could not, therefore, be carpetbagging, now could it?
are you saying he moved her from Tacoma ?
I’m so confused.
