Is Bob Schaffer "bat-shit insane"?

That’s what Markos says:

CO-Sen: CQ takes a look at this race.

Democrats see the Colorado contest as perhaps their strongest opportunity to increase their party’s operational 51-49 majority. Republicans are hopeful that most Coloradoans will back the GOP presidential nominee — as the state has done in nine of the past 10 elections — and by extension create a favorable political environment for Schaffer.

Voters should have a clear contrast. Schaffer is unassailably conservative while Udall is generally liberal, although his record started moving toward the political center once he decided that he would run for the Senate in 2008 whether Allard sought re-election or not. Both will fight for centrist voters in a state where political independents are more numerous than either Republicans or Democrats.

Schaffer is bat-shit-insane-conservative, and wasn’t the first choice for the Colorado GOP. This isn’t a good bet for the GOP. And while it’s never wise to count those chickens before they hatch, this is clearly our best pickup opportunity in 2008.

Now I know why they don’t like Markos: he’s mean!

      1. You cannot pin point BS’s craziness with one qoute or action. From sex education (or rather the far extreme of NO sex education), privatization of the US (complete sell out to corporatists) to Congressional oversight (especially regarding how he played up the “wag the dog” hyperbole for Clinton, and then became a head cheerleader for the innvsasion and occupation of Iraq), that BS is consistenly and unequivocally batty.
