Taking Responsibility

  • by: Raf

Yesterday, I wrote a post both here and on Open Left, in which, during the process of announcing the campaign’s logo contest, I sharply, in an unflattering manner, and unnecessarily criticized Will Shafroth, Joan Fitz-Gerald, and both of the Salazar Brothers.

I want it to be absolutely clear that I wrote what I wrote under my own volition. The sentiments expressed in those posts are my own, and no one else’s. They absolutely and certainly don’t reflect the sentiments or attitudes of the campaign. They are not reflective, at all, of how Jared feels.

As a result, I have submitted my resignation from the campaign, effective immediately. I feel that my continued presence would distract immensely from the hard work of the campaign. I feel that my error of judgment should not reflect on Jared, but rather on myself, and I will now take time to reflect on how I can best repair the breach.

The decisions leading up to this are mine and mine alone. I continue to believe that Jared will be the best representative from the 2nd Congressional District of Colorado

      1. I am not from the district. But, I am tired of the standard politicians that exists, and that includes JFG. For her actions against 41, I am hopeful that she will lose big.

And as to the name, I was not aware of that as I have not look at the posting. But it is very rare to have a politician or their workers take responsibility for their actions, even with their name on it. So, I am still impressed. After all, look at ppl like GWB, ROve, and Libby, or Bill Clinton, reagan, or Nixon from an earlier era. None of them took responsibility for their actions.

See where it says “by Raf Noboa” at the top. The only way NOT to take responsibility would be to try and say someone else posted under your name. There is nothing courageous about someone taking the fall for something that they put their name on.

As for calling you a Polis guy, I didn’t mean you were on the campaign…but your posts show that you are an obvious supporter.

      2. Usually people write “I wasn’t thinking” or “I was drunk” or “Let me tell you what I really meant” or some other excuse to try and get out of what they said.

I give him credit for owning what he said. That is rare.

  1. keep your chin up, remember, you can always rant against the other party, just not yours, well unless it is over caving on FISA or um authorizing the president to invade Iraq, or wait, unless he is lieberman, or wait, unless he could have kept recount hopes alive as president of the senate in 2000 during the florida debacle.
Oh shoot Raf, i don’t know, somehow your voice will be stronger from this, because it is time and chance when what you say will be deemed “good” or “bad.”
    hang in there.
