Wake Up, Spencer

The Rocky will get upset if we show the picture here, but check out Rep.-elect Spencer Swalm getting sleepy during freshman orientation at the Capitol yesterday. It’s boring, we know. The caption says he’s “listening intently,” like we all did in biology.

Helpful tip: with legislative breakfasts out due to Amendment 41, hit a drive-thru on the way in. You’ll need the carbs.

Maybe he’s in the wrong chamber: we understand Joan Fitz-Gerald keeps a ruler in her pocket for this very occasion?

  1. Everyone knows the thumb goes below the chin, the index finger up the side of the head near the ear, and the middle finger just across the lower lip.

“Such a perplexing point to consider is certainly sending me deep into thought.  Thankfully, my reliable three point prop will keep my face from hitting the table.”

    1. Brings me back to that 7:30AM taught by video class of UF so many years ago.  Even got to where I could sort of keep my eyes open.  For awhile.  Sometimes.
