…shows Ritter increasing his lead even more – to 55-33. The poll was commissioned by the Rocky and 4News, and was conducted by one (R) and one (D) pollster working together.
I don’t know who’s numbers to believe in CO-04, but my guess is Paccione’s still in the thick of the hunt.
The negative ads against Paccione have been so incessantly unfair and mean that they’re probably starting to get her a sympathy vote.
And that ad with the blinded vet was so incredibly manipulative that it probably pissed some people off. (“Stay the course to honor those already killed/wounded” has been discredited as a rallying cry as well as a strategy.)
Musgrave has hardly posted a single ad even mentioning any basic issues of importance to her constituents, like water, jobs, etc.
Musgrave has totally blown this. I think it’ll be interesting too watching how the Haggard scandel will play in CD-4. It could be the nail in the coffin for Musgrave.
I am confident this ad is backfiring on MM. The majority of americans think “stay the course in Iraq” is the wrong direction, and this includes President Bush, who now denies saying “stay the course” in the first place.
Looking at the internals, I noticed there is no gender gap, and minimal generational gap with seniors giving AP an edge. Ds are behind AP slightly stronger than Rs are behind MM, with Us breaking towards AP about 2:1.
I have a feeling this one could go on a while.
I have to think that GOTV from here on out will favor her . . .
I wander what the polling percentages will be after Prez Bush leaves town. Will Bush help or hurt MM’s numbers? Of course we all know Bush will blast Kerry for his idiotic comments, but as long as his fellow dems keep condemning him, perhaps it won’t hurt AP that much. Will the Haggart row have any effect?
They both agree on most everything so I’m sure she would love to have him up there – as long as he promises not to marry his boyfriend.
I find it hilarious that Paccione’s only ‘skeletons’ are the fact that she hasn’t paid bills in time, or has been in debt
seriously — I think this has caused voters to GRAVITATE towards Paccione, considering that late bills and debt are strifes that all Americans can relate to
We have thousands of troops in Iraq & Afghanistan, regions on the brink of war all over the world, and holocausts, literally, still taking place in some areas…… you just can’t run on gay marriage forever….. eventually, real issues will catch up
I’m a proud Republican — but Musgrave’s lack of ability in articulating a sensible foreign policy, in my opinion, is what is really killing her
W. has been a wonder for Al Qaeda. He has done a better job of encouraging new recruits than anything that Al Qaeda could do. I have to wonder if W. is actually helping the Dems by being here? Everytime he speaks in glowing remarks about the economy or about the deficit, Iraq war, Al Qaeda, etc, it has to be a major reminder to indies that W., his white house, and the republicans are full of lies.
