Democrat John Salazar maintains his 11-point lead over Republican Scott Tipton in CD-3, according to the latest poll from Survey USA/9News.
John Salazar: 52
Scott Tipton: 41
Given that the incumbent Salazar has a lot more money than Tipton and is polling well ahead in a year where Republicans look to lose big in Colorado, CD-3 may be out of reach for Republicans at this point.

While Tipton is still behind, he has been closing the gap on Salazar for some time. I guarantee this election is decided by only a couple of points either way.
The 11-point lead is the exact same margin that Salazar held in August.
Looking around at least the middle and eastern parts of CO-03, I’d have to say that Salazar has public enthusiasm going his way, too.
At this point, I think Tipton has to hope that Salazar has a Dead Girl/Live Boy moment before the election. Otherwise, it’s Salazar in a (relative) landslide.
John Salazar is going to smoke his opponent this cycle. Salazar is already up with tv in Colorado Springs & Grand Junction network. Also, driving around you hear tons of Salazar radio spots. Tipton has nothing on the air…zip. Salazar also has a message and story…agriculture, veterans, rural values…
Also, it doesn’t hurt that the NRA is actively campaigning for Salazar too.
