Redistricting isn't just for Congress and our state legislature. Denver's turn is coming next in September.
Will they add two new council districts? Will they convert the At-Large positions into new districts?
Mayor Hancock needs a job in 2023, so maybe he'll run for one of the newly defined positions?
I'm not sure adding 2 seats is the way to go. Especially when we consider the obscene amount of money we pay our city councilmembers. That would just be two more very high paid jobs.
I also do not like converting the at-large seats to districts. Many issues the city faces are localized and the district level members can focus on those. But we have many more issues that are citywide (homelessness comes to mind) and really need a full city focus on them.
My recommendations is simply increase their budgets for constituent outreach to accommodate the high numbers and keep the size and nature of the council the same.

Today is La Fête Nationale wherein Macron humiliated Fat Donnie from Queens.
And as I learned in my high school French courses, “The French National Day is the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a major event of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération that celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790.”
Later on, I learned the French were no longer entirely unified: there is an issue “which has divided the country into two groups. They even have special names: the juilletistes, who vacation in July (July is juillet in French) and the aoûtiens (for août, or August.).” I needed to learn which camp my French (and francophile) colleagues were in — which planning and preparation tasks could be continued in my project. It was a foregone conclusion that no matter what, a corporate initiative could not be rolled out until after the US Labor Day.
