WOTD from Adam Schiff via Kate Riga at TPM: "Schiff Opens Hearing On The Offensive, Listing Maguire’s Questionable Behavior"
Go read the whole opening statement as Adam Schiff addresses Director of National Intelligence, Joseph Maguire. Smart, smart, smart:
They're calling it "Stupid Watergate"
The best part about this: Rudy Giuliani played an integral role in creating all of this!
John Oliver has been calling actions of this whole Sad!ministration "Stupid Watergate" since January, 2017.
That's priceless, PH. I was just remarking on another site that this is warming up to be a replay of Watergate for those too young to remember it. Once again, it's not the act, but the cover-up.
Well, surprise, surprise, surprise !!!!? . . .
. . . another
badgreat day for the misAdministration that couldn’t e-mail straight. (Another great day forAmericathe griftocracy . . . )That “transcript”? As credible as an Alabama Hurricane forecast. As worthless as a TtumpUniversity Doctoredit degree. As legitimate as a Mar-a-Lago coat-of-arms.
Another Barr-abetted cover-up . . .
. . . Grrrrreaaaaaat — like Watergate! MAGA!
What about Pence? If/when Trump is impeached and convicted for quid pro quo with Ukraine, what if Pence was also involved? Pence would be disqualified to be president, too.
Hello Madam President Pelosi.
I share your dream but it is only a dream devoid of reality.
Even if he were to shoot someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue in NYC, at least 45 out of the 53 Republicans would still acquit him in an impeachment trial.
My guess is that Collins, Toomey, Portman, Burr, Murkowski, Romney, Sasse, and perhaps one other might possibly vote to remove him from office. That's as good as it gets.
And the Dems probably lose Manchin's vote in an impeachment trial.
"dream devoid of reality"
Usually the best kind
As for the shooting – someone should start looking for the body and or the video.
Cry havoc and slip loose the dogs of the cultural wars!

I am sure that Dr Chaps and Ted Cruz will want to lead the battle cry on this one.
Sorry, but Barbie and Ken were always “gender neutral”. Barbie’s figure was so anatomically weird that it made her more alien than human.
I do support any toys that help kids feel like they belong in this world, so bring on the non-binary dollies. Just don’t expect us old Barbie handlers to get too worked up about them.
What? 36-18-34 isn't normal for a woman?

I must confess. 20 years ago, a friend gave me the Gay Carlos doll for my birthday.
R&R: GOP consultant Mike Murphy based on private conversations with GOP senators stated yesterday that 30 GOP senators would vote to convict.
Big talk, which will subside when the base growls at them. But even if they removed Trump, it is a leftist wet dream to say they also remove Pence.
Better is
goodbetter.Pence, for any portion of the remainder the 4-year anni horribles reign of this sadministration, would be something less awful than Eric and Donald Jr.’s sperm donor. (A little church lady for a few months isn’t going to kill many of us — the country’s survived that already several times.)
Pence has as much chance of winning in 2020 as Danforth Quayle, Dick Cheney, or dead Agnew . . .
(. . . assuming we still have elections by then, of course.)
As Aunt Lydia would say, "Blessed be" and "May the fruit open!"
That's "Blessed be the fruit." and "May the Lord Open". I read that terrifying book on a business trip when it first came out in mass-market paperback, and Pence is the sort that would usher it in.
Under his eye.
Have you watched the TV series? Does it stick to the story line in the book?
Sorta kinda. It was a long novel (I read it on a two-week business trip in Florida), but for a television series it can't help but be padded out.
Interesting. Did he name any names?
Actually, Mike Murphy said that some Republican Senator (one person) told him that if the vote were a secret ballot, 30 GOP Senators would vote to convict.
If true, it is a pretty damning indictment of the "courage of their convictions." [or in this case, their lack of courage in their lack of conviction.]

Maguire is channeling his best Pontias Pilate.
I did my job! Leave me alone!!
Maguire is no doubt wishing he could retreat to the plain and simple world of Counterterrorism. He never got pulled up to the harsh glare of national attention as an Admiral running Counterterrorism forces or as the Director of Counterterrorism for the past 9 months. Instead, he accepted this "Acting" DNI gig, and in a month, he got to sit uncomfortably for a nationally televised Congressional hearing.
On that level, I sorta feel sorry for the guy.
However…when he started using the Whitest House excuse about other countries not paying their share, the stink began to leak out. Ideologically, this is a Trump man, or at least pretended so to get the job, who got dropped in the frying pan and is desperately trying to stay out of the fire.
His "privilege" defense is pretty weak. As is the "President is not part of the intelligence community" defense.
This not looking good for the Orange Destruction. Watch the mooring ropes for the rats…should be entertaining.
No pity
First, because when he took the job, he knew.
Second, because of this:
: Director- the law says when a complaint of this nature is submitted and found to be of urgent concern, it must be provided to the congress within 7 days. Who decided to ignore that?
: MCg: well, the sun was in my eytes, spin, argle blargle, and then my dog ate my homework, spin, talking point, etc and so on
: Ok – well then we issued a subpoena. Whod decided to ignore that?
: Director-the sun was in my eytes, spin, argle blargle, and then my dog ate my homework, spin, talking point, etc and so on
Own it a-hole.

Quinnipiac has Warren 1, 27 pct, Biden 2, 25 pct. Bernie WayWay Too Old 3, 15 pct, Edgyboots 7 pct.
It's a two person race and the lady doth kick butt in Iowa. At least, the Bernie fad seems to be dying out, if not the passion for free stuff he brought into the dialogue.
Trump just gave a tour de force press statement…..
He used the word "disgrace" about 15 times, said Nancy Pelosi was "hijacked" by the far left, the investigation is preventing "gun regulation" (I'm looking at you, Negev) and immigration reform.
Is he close to solving the case of the missing strawberries?
He's been outclassed by BoJo and the pink-eyed terminators coming back from the future.
Ed Perlmutter's H.R.1595 – SAFE Banking Act of 2019 just got passed without amendment (and by a sufficient margin to override any veto). Banking for marijuana growers, vendors, suppliers and their employees is one house closer to reality.
Reps. Perlmutter, DeGette, Neguese, Crow and even Tipton voted yes. Buck and Lamborn voted no.
