Last night Keith Olbermann took McCain to task for many of his recent ridiculous statements including this attack on Senator Obama:
“Behind all of these claims and positions by Senator Obama lies the ambition to be president,”
That sounds familiar. Where have I heard that said about a presidential candidate before?
“I didn’t decide to run for President to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in our to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be President because it had become my ambition to be President. I was sixty-two years old when I made the decision and I thought it was my one shot at the prize.”
Not only is that blind (and forgetful) ambition, it’s hypocritical. McCain must be an extremely insecure person to project his own flawed characteristics onto his opponent on a daily basis like he does.

…otherwise, ain’t nobody would run for that godforsaken office.
yet the McCain campaign fuels it’s campaign on baseless (and hypocritical) attacks lines like this one so it’s nice to deflate their straight talk express tires.
…the reference to ambition being “blind” made me think that the reference was pejorative.
